Hi there! I'm Esther, 28 years old, born in Utrecht (The Netherlands) and have been living in The Hague for the past 4 years. After my studies in Amsterdam I first worked as a freelance journalist but later on got a corporate job as social media manager. Five years later I was working as a PR consultant but decided to quit my job in the fall of 2017 to travel the world indefinitely and see if I can earn a small living as a freelance writer and communications consultant along the way.
I will be travelling with my boyfriend for some parts, and alone for other parts of the trip. We don't really have a plan; we just want to see the world and are open to anything! We love meeting new people from different countries and cultural backgrounds via couchsurfing.
We are very easy going and very thankful for any small gesture of kindness and/or hospitality. Besides travelling and writing I'm very passionate about music, sports, spitiruality, nature and food. I also love hiking, exploring the great outdoors, adventures etc.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
For my hopefully neverending trip around the world I'm mostly looking for places to stay. If I stay with you, I'll be happy to cook you a nice meal (I'm told that my lasagna and tiramisu are my signature dishes ;-)), help out around the house, grocery shopping etc. If you're busy or have no need to interact, that's okay too!
Also, if you can't host but you're up for a drink or just a walk around town, I'd love to meet up with you. I have never hosted myself yet, but I've met up with some awesome people in Amsterdam and New York through Couchsurfing.
Music (concerts, bars with live music, blues clubs), sports (like everything!), writing and reading, movies, travelling, philosophy, skiing.
- live music
- nature walks
- anything outdoors
Musica, film e libri
Music: 60's and 70's. Crosby Stills & Nash, Simon & Garfunkel, Beatles, Supertramp, Eagles, Linda Ronstadt. Nashville & Bay Area!
Books: I just finished The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, thought it was amazing. Am currently reading the Diary of a Yogi by Yogananda.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
Traveled through South-East Asia for two months by myself last year, lived in NYC for two months in 2011, took a roadtrip on the Australian east coast with my inlaws... I can't choose, because all journies are equally amazing!
Insegna, impara, condividi
You can't find happiness anywhere but within yourself. And always trust your intuition. It's always right.
Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa
I'm very happy to help out around the house! Cooking dinner, cleaning, grocery shopping, anything! I'm also happy to share a nice conversation about life, your travels, your family or anything else that is of interest to you. Ofcourse I will share any information about the Netherlands and/or other places I've been, travel tips etc. if you're interest! And I can help out if you need social media or some PR/communications advise!
