About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My goal in life used to be to get married and pop out babies while living in a suburban McMansion with our dog and white pickett fence. My current objective is to make the choices I want, deal with the consequenses (good or bad) and learn from my actions.
ABOUT ME
I love meeting new people and I would consider myself a "Good Time Charlie." I have no problem going places alone, as I usually end up meeting plenty of people to spend my time with. I'm usually very outgoing and energetic, although like most people there are days where I would rather sit on a couch and listen to music than go out and cut a rug!
PHILOSOPHY
Be nice. It seems so trite, but it is what it is. Sometimes I'm kind to a fault and people take advantage, but generally speaking, people are just looking for one person to take them seriously and be nice. You can get a heck of a lot further in life with a smile and a sincere word than you can with a hundred dollar bill.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I've only been able to help out on the discussion boards. Since I was born and raised in the OC, I know quite a bit about what to do while you're visiting!

Interests
I'm a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none. I like backpacking and hiking as well as "camping." (I put that in quotations because I'm a believer that backpacking is real camping and pulling up to a camping space and pitching a tent is just a mini-vacation. I grew up in southern CA, so I love all things water! I've just learned the joys of outrigger canoeing and kayaking and would paddle every day if I could. Some of the outdoorsy things I've accomplished and am proud of include: completing a marathon, completing a triathlon, summiting Mt. Whitney and hiking all over So. Cal as well as completing a ton of 5K and 10K runs.
I consider myself to be way above average intelligence. That may come off as snarky, but it's a fact, and I'm not ashamed of being smart. I also think it's worth a mention that I'm a little crass sometimes.
I love food. I love cooking food. I love eating food.
So that's me in a nutshell. Nice to meet you!

Music, Movies, and Books
Clive Cussler is my all-time favorite author. I love the mix of historical fact with sci-fi bad guys and the ever-present 007-type character who's always able to MacGyver himself out of a terrible situation and save the day at the last minute. Not to mention, he always gets the girl! I also really enjoy all zombie movies and the post-apocalyptic genre. To be completely honest, the list of movies I don't enjoy is way shorter than the list of the movies I'll watch over and over again.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Summiting Mt. Whitney is the most amazing experience I've ever had. The pain and dedication it took just to keep going paid off in the end when I was able to sign my name in the guest book at the peak. What an amazing view and a feeling I'll never forget. It may have been the lack of oxygen at that elevation, but I actually cried when I was writing my name down. (I'm not a big crier.)
Teach, Learn, Share
Like I said previously: I'm a jack-of-all trades and a master of none. I can teach basics on almost anything from playing pool to swimming, backpacking and baking. Ask me, and I might know just a little about your interests!
