ABOUT ME

I would love to regale everyone with tales of all the places and people and appetites-sated I've grazed, gauked and been through these last twenty-one months of continuous travel (long self-asserted to be preparetary to writing a novel; make that several novels), but since that would be tiring, and multiplied more so by a long string of unlikely place names, I'll just make it brief (still awaiting that quiet place and inspirational back-slap to the old creative head after all these months) and thus hopefully enticing. Meaning? Well, if you welcome me into your home--the kitchen, the assumed pool and jacuzi and personal tanning-bed and/or sauna--and of course are especially kind: I'll tell you about them...a sort of sneek peak into tomorrow's best seller list.

Just looking for a couch as of yet...but once home, to skie-/winter-wonder-land Denver, Colorado, will be happy to return to favor.

兴趣

The normally presumed I suppose: TRAVELING! Living abroad and even, even I have to admit it, a little bit of honest tourism once in a while. Of course, and most importantly, that has long been NOT THE POINT! Travel is merely the means, the perfected window-dressing, of getting by without the need of a nine-to-five five-days-a-week J.O.B.; meaning: a little peace, a lot of time, the opportunity to WRITE! That I have utterly squandered that chance in other, lesser pursuits...well...all part of the story, an entirely too long story at that. But, say "la..."

For literature: every letter on every page ever written by Nabokov, Tolkien, Hunter S. Thompson, William Gibson, Steinbeck, Lewis Carrol and A.A. Milne; just to name a few...and of course my egostical self.

For movies made from (it's easier): Kubrick, Woody Allen, Coen Brothers, Aldomovar, Miyazaki, Takashi Miike and Kitano, Darabount, Gilliam, Spielberg...and many many more...the film I've watched the most times soberly? Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...NOT soberly? Withnail and I.

Music (a quick one): Classical, Blues, Jazz and Rock N' Roll...or something approaching that order (basically anything but American country "music").

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

A list: the most picturesque? Owning and driving an Indian Royal Enfield, in India, for nearly ten months. And going there-abouts from Manali (in the lower-ish Himalaya) to Leh, in Jammu and Kashmir (thus besting the second and first highest motorable passes in the world!); and all by stupidly daring self; very stupid: I don't own a camera or motorcycle license!!!
