About Me

Hola! People call me Etienne van de Boel and I live in the Burgundian south of the low lands, otherwise called Holland. My excellent Spanish as showed in the first word might be indicating otherwise but I`m as Dutch as you could find them. However, I am also the kind of dutchman that likes to explore new places, meet new people and enjoy la vida, probably accompanied with a glass of alcohol or a freshly poured glass of apple juice.
I have travelled around the southern hemisphere, visiting SEA, Australia & Latinoámerica. If you ever come across Breda, i'll be happy to welcome you in my house and offer you a couch for the night and a funky evening at Breda.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Quite simple: to offer and enjoy nice sleeping places for and at people. Because that is what everybody does.

Interests

To travel on a pretty small (undoable) budget to non-western continents, playing tennis, learning new languages, swimming, cooking (though not a masterchef, at all), non-binge-watching some series and preferably action/comedy/dystopian/classic/GuyRitchie movies, drinking cervezas, wine, applejuice or special beers from lovely neigbouring Belgium.

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic music taste, but hate deephouse, deeptechno, deephardcore, basically everything that is overdone. I have read 1984 of Georgie Orwell ones, it was pretty cool.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biking from Hanoi to Saigon (V`nam) on probably the shittiest bike ever, but without it breaking down. Though it was quite wrecked after the trail.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching languages is a cool thing to do. Not very good at philosophy or life lessons though. Still funny thing to do, especially when folks don`t understand I`m not serious.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A dazzling conversation in (maybe) your own language, strong stories, some weird pictures I have on my phone, some mediocre food, a sixpack of beers (unless you`re in NewZealand, you guys are bastards with those beerprices).

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Netherlands, United Kingdom
