Overview
About Me
Hi ! My name is Etienne !
I'm a french student living in Paris where I study languages (Bosnian-Croatian-Montenegrin-Serbian) and international business. I chose these languages because I'm a big fan of Balkans and especially former Yugoslavia. I love to travel, to meet people from all over the Europe and the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My personal first goal is to learn to know how people are living and thinking and at the same time to practice the languages I'm learning.
I've ever been in a lot of countries but more like a tourist. That's why I would like to discover Europe differently !
Then, I just want to discover new cities, regions, people and improve my croatian, bosnian, serbian or ever montenegrin !

Music, Movies, and Books
I actually listen to a lot of different music styles. From jazz to rap music, I also like progressive rock, electronic music, the French song and mostly oriental musics. Indeed, I love to listen and discover every days new singers, bands, and artists from the Middle-Est, North-Africa or even from Russia. Naturally, balkan music is one of my favourite style. I usually listen to sevdalinka music, traditional balkan music and yugoslavian music from the 60S-70s-90s.
I love to sing and was for 15 years in a music school where I learnt to play trombone and a little bit of piano.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I travelled for the first time in Balkans this last summer. It was wonderful ! I touched down in Belgrade where I was staying a little bit more than 1 week and where I took some courses of serbian language at the University. I felt in love with Belgrade at this moment haha !
After Belgrade, I went to Sarajevo for 4-5 days. Of course Belgrade is more interesting for youngs, mostly because of the night life of the city which is huge. But, by a personal point of view, I would say that Sarajevo would be a perfect city to live.
4-5 days later, I went to Mostar, and I wanna just say WAAW ! Masha Allah would say !
I stayed 3 days in Mostar after which I headed to the croatian coast. I visited Split, Sibenik and Zadar. It was very cool.
I finished with Zagreb and Ljubljana. Ljubljana was a favorite for me! My father comes from Slovenia, then it was very symbolic.
