I hope you guys are okay !

My girlfriend and I created this couchsurfing account because we are travelling to Japan in April and we are looking for places to stay and people to meet !

Our journey extends from the 31st of march to the 28th of April and the main cities we'll be travelling through are Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka !

I am 24 years old and I only just finished my master's degree in cinema studies in Paris and I currently work on movie sets as location technician to enter the cinema and make a little bit on money but I hope to be a film director some day ! I study japanese in textbooks but I know that it's not enough to become fluent, I love this language and I will try to get better during this trip !

Sophie is working as a bar manager in the center of Paris, she specializes in cocktail mixology ! She is very sociable, nice and generous, she likes flowery landscapes and discover new flavours.

We are both eager to meet new people and discover new cultures !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are on couchsurfing because we know that it's the best way to approach a country's inner culture. We want to meet both locals and travelers to hear about their relationship to Japan.

Just as you can't fully learn a language with textbooks, you can't fully discover a city with tourist information. It's always about talking to real people in real places ! That's mainly why we are here !

We want to go to normal neighbourhoods with japanese people, small unregistered bars and restaurants, not the tourist attractions !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled around Europe with two friends backpacking, hitchhiking and sleeping where we could, for almost 5000km from France up to Sweden and back down to Portugal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We take analog photography, so travelling in Japan could be a great opportunity to develop our skils and create connection with people. Etienne will tell you some tremendous stories about his job in cinema, Sophie can cook some delicious french meals and your favorite cocktail !
