I like to learn new things and like to meet new friends from all over the world. This is why I love traveling so much. Learning a new culture from local people or by my eyes is better than books or TV.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I knew this site by newspaper many years ago in my home country. When I studied in America and wanted to make some friends during the trip, I found this site on a forum.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only had one couch surfing experience. This was in May 2011, I went to Holland, Michigan to see the Tulip Festival and stayed in a host's home. She was very nice to show me around and introduced some cultures about the festival. Besides, she also took me to Chicago with her friends. Both of us love art and because she lived in Chicago in the past, she showed me the public art and all she knows about the city. It was a really nice experience!

Interests

Sketching people:
I have learned how to sketch people by myself since I was in junior high school. Sometimes I also draw animals and do some art craft. After drawing for 13 years, I developed my own way to do sketching.

Photography:
In recent years, photography became one of my hobbies. I especially like landscape and wildlife photography. And I am practicing how to do HDR(High Dynamic Range) photography, too.

Star gazing:
When I learned how to recognize constellations in my second year in university, I spent a year to recognize 44 constellations in the sky by my naked eyes. I also saw some planets such as Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. After I knew how to take the pictures of constellations, I planed to take as many as constellaitons I can see in the United States.

I also like to play basketball and table tennis, I was in table tennis school team in elementary school, senior high and university.

Traveling:
I like traveling to any places. Meeting new friends, seeing amazingly beautiful landscape and cute animals can make my life more colorful. Moreover, I practiced how to improve my photograph skill during the trips.

Rock climbing:
I tried it twice in my home country and I found it is very interesting. So I started to take courses for two semesters in 2011 and 2012.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of different kinds of music period by period.
I like Korean pop music in my junior high and listen to Japanese pop music since I entered university.
Recent years, I like operatic pop music like Celtic Woman, Celion Dion, Hayley Westenra, Lisa Kelly, and Russell Watson.
I also like classical music, Johann Strauss, Bach, Grieg, Chopin, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky are my favorite.
About English pop music, I like Ronan Keting.

Since 2012, I started to listen to some country music. Keith Urban, kenny chesney, Tim Mcgraw, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are my favorite singers.

I enjoyed the movies about war, history, fantasy and family.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In June 2013, I went to Colorado Plateau by myself for 24 days. A lot of crazy things happened in this trip, like driving 11 hours in the mountains a day from Great Sand Dunes National Park to Mesa Verde National Park, hiking 10 miles in Arches National Park to visit the three most famous districts a day, hiking to Angels Landing in Zion National Park, hiking to The Wave under 104F for 6 hrs, and not to mention all the amazing views in 10 National Parks where I went in this trip.

I'd like to improve my English oral speaking, but not take it seriously. I just want to chat with friends or travel together to improve it gradually.
