ABOUT ME

I'm from California but spent the formative years of my childhood in Taiwan and went to school in Washington DC before moving to New York. I work in the renewable energy field and am always interested in learning more or sharing what I know! Though I haven't traveled to many exotic places or for extensive periods of time, I genuinely enjoy taking the path less taken and am looking forward to meeting new people and immersing myself in foreign cultures and histories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience in Tbilisi blew away any expectations I had because of the hospitality and the friendships that were formed. To me, the site is a great way to explore foreign places through the experience of the locals and see first hand how other people from other cultures live. What better way to travel?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Though I have yet to venture on a trip that can change the very core of how I see the world, there are a couple of trips that created some of my fondest memories:
- a week long hike of the Inca Trail culminating in watching the sunrise over Machu Picchu
- getting to know the kids of an elementary school in a South African township
- solo backpacking trip through the heart of Central Asia and the Pamir Mountains
- swimming in a lake completely filled with jelly fish and drinking bat soup in Palau
- hiking the famous Patagonia W trail in Torres del Paine in Chile
- drove around Iceland on the Ring Road and hiked Hornstrandir
- free water solo in Halong Bay in Vietnam
