Hi there! I am Eugenia, a 24-year-old Spanish girl. I have studied a Biochemistry Degree and also a Master's degree in Biomedical Research. Now I am doing a PhD in Cancer Genetics. As you can imagine, I love science! Since I was a child, I've been a very curious person, so a job that consists of discovering unknown things until that moment is perfect for me!

I consider myself as a really outgoing person. I love meet very different people and learn from them about different cultures and interests, here in Seville or everywhere (that's why I love traveling!) I like hanging out a lot but I also like nature tours. I think I have a lot of adaptability and I can have fun doing anything!

I love good conversations on transcendental issues: science of life, consciousness (and the states of altered consciousness), ridiculous social rules, questioning of tangible reality, decline of culture, feminism, how to fix the world, and so on. And also learn from people's interests that I was not aware of! "Always learn more from people than from books"

Travel around South America changed my life, and now I am triyng to put in practise all the learning I received there in my daily life

Hola! Soy Eugenia, una chica española de 24 años. He estudiado un Grado en Bioquímica y un Máster en Investigación Biomédica. Actualmente estoy haciendo el doctorado en genética del cáncer. Como puedes imaginar, me encanta la ciencia! Siempre he sido una persona muy curiosa, por lo que un trabajo que consiste en descubrir cosas nunca vistas hasta ese momento es ideal para mí.

Me considero una persona muy extrovertida. Me encanta conocer a gente muy distinta y aprender de ellos diferentes culturas e intereses, ya sea aquí en Sevilla o en cualquier parte (¡por eso me encanta viajar!) Me gusta mucho salir de fiesta pero también las excursiones por la naturaleza. Creo que tengo una gran capacidad de adaptación y consigo pasármelo bien haciendo cualquier cosa!

Me encantan las buenas conversaciones sobre temas trascendentales: la ciencia de la vida, la conciencia (y los estados de conciencia alterada), las convenciones sociales absurdas, el cuestionamiento de la realidad tangible, el declive cultural actual, el feminismo, cómo arreglar el mundo,...Y también aprender de los intereses de otras personas de los que no era consciente! Viajar por Sudamérica cambió mi vida,y ahora intento poner en práctica todo el aprendizaje desarrollado allí en mi vida cotidiana.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I host because I think that accepting foreign guests in your place it's another way to travel. I like also to be a guest because I want to know the cities as a local.

Yo hospedo porque pienso que aceptar huéspedes extranjeros en casa es otra forma de viajar. También me gusta ser un huésped porque quiero conocer las ciudades que visito como lo hace un local.

I don't know how to start! haha. I love classic rock and country-folk music (Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan,...), contemporary indie pop and rock bands (Artic Monkeys, Belle and Sebastian, The Strokes, The Smiths, Radiohead,...), singer-songwriter music (Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Joaquín Sabina, Kevin Johansen, Silvio Rodríguez, el Kanka, Luis Pastor,...), spanish rock and rap bands (Extremoduro, Marea, Fito, Kase.O, Los chikos del Maiz, La Raíz,...)

Movies: any of Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, David Lynch, David Fincher, Kubrick, Buñuel, Charlie Kauffman, Spike Jonze, Coen brothers, Tarantino, Richard Linklater.. I love mental paranoia movies and psychological thrillers, but also science fiction and black comedy movies. Some examples: The tenebaums, Interestellar, Inception, Mulholland Drive, Lost highway, Seven, Fight Club, 2001: a Space Odissey, The Shinning, The Exterminating Angel, Adaptation, Synecdoche: New York, Her, Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Before Sunrise, Sunset and Midnight, Boyhood, Waking Life,...

Books: international poetry (Walt Whitman, Bukowski, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Benedetti, Pessoa, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Lorca, Miguel Hernández), I also love south american authors (Cortázar, Benedetti, Galeano, Juan Rulfo), beat generation (Burroughs, Kerouac, Ginsberg), classical authors (Goethe, Kafka), comtemporary authors (Kundera, Murakami, Virginia Woolf), dystopic novels (1984, Farenheit 451, Brave New World,...)... Now I am particularly obsessed with Kundera and Pessoa, they are my favorite authors at the moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am extremely curious, so any teaching is welcome! In general, I'd like to know how is the daily life of the places I am going to visit, as well as to know beautiful natural or city places that do not appear in the tourist guides.

In return, I can offer stories about Spain (daily live there, politics, costumes,...) and about other trips I've done. I can also teach to cook typical Spanish dishes!

Soy extremamente curiosa, así que agradezco cualquier enseñanza! En general, me gustaría conocer la vida cotidiana de los lugares que voy a visitar, así como lugares naturales o civiles hermosos que no aparezcan en las guías turísticas.
A cambio, puedo ofrecer historias de España (vida cotidiana allí, política, costumbres),... o de otros viajes que he realizado. También puedo enseñar a cocinar platos típicos españoles!

What I Can Share with Hosts

In addition to cooking, I think I am a good company for every plan the host'd like to do! I am also a respectful person and I have no problem following the rules of the house where I stay. By the way, I love pets! I have to dogs and a cat at home :)

Además de cocinar, creo que soy una buena compañía para cualquier plan que el host quiera hacer! También soy una persona muy respetuosa, por lo que no tengo problema en seguir las reglas de la casa donde me quede. Por cierto, me encantan las mascotas! Tengo dos perros y un gato en casa :)
