About Me

Hey People!
I'm Eugenio, I'm 22 and I come from Italy. at 19 I left my home to come live and study in the Netherlands, where I graduated in January. Two of my great passions are travelling and bikes, so travelling by bike is basically heaven for me.
I live with my girlfriend, Agata, and we just started our little company - Ugly Duckling Cycles -, to fix, restore and build custom bikes.

Interests

Obviously, I spend a lot of time on bikes. there is not one day in which I manage to keep my hands clean altogether. However, when I'm done working on steel, I like to spend time eating and cooking (duh, being Italian). I'm a pretty good cook, and I prefer cooking savory dishes.
I am much more of a nature person than a city one. I try to spend as much time as possible away from civilization (though it is difficult in everyday's life). Being raised on the Alps, I use to hike on the mountains a lot, trying to leave behind all sorts of "modern" things.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is pretty difficult to pinpoint one favorite type of music for me. I basically like all "good music". however, I have a preference for Opera, Reggae and German electronic music.
Movies-wise I am a great fan of Christopher Nolan (I believe The Prestige is his best movie), Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman (man, I wish he narrated a day in my life as a documentary!)
My favorite book is the Little Prince, by Saint Exupery. it has always inspired me not to be too serious, and to give the right value to what's next to me. I love 1984 by Orwell, and I am a great fan of Italo Calvino. Despite being quite heavy books, I believe that Homer and Dante Alighieri are still the best authors in history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked as a volunteer in a refugee camp in Southern Italy.
I crossed the Alps by bike.
