ABOUT ME

Hello everyone! I am going to give you a quick description of who I am. I lived in France in my hometown (Angers) for 24 years. Angers is in the west of France in the countryside. It is a really quiet and nice region next to a river (la Loire) where have been built the "chateaux de la Loire" (castles). I guess it is this environnement that gave me a peaceful and warm personnality. I really like talking to people and I am said to be friendly (more than I am actually I guess LOL). After these 24 years of quiet life, I moved to south of France where I met a lot of foreigners. I loved what they brought to me. A different and fresh point of view about my own country. I have also been impressed by their motivation to learn a new language. By chance I met there a nice japanese girl and I started to learn about Japan. For one year I kept meeting a lot of foreigners and I studeed japanese. Then I left France to go to live in Japan. I have been living in Tokyo for 3 years with the japanese girl I met in France who is now my wife. I made a lot of international friends, I am enjoying Japan and I traveled in Asia. Maybe it is because I started a bit late but I became a real travel-addicted!
My next plan is to travel in Europe. I am french but I have never been in other european countries except England and Slovakia. I like the idea of Europe. Being european and in the same time keeping is own culture. I would like to discover about yours.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After this trip, I am going to help people just by offering a couch for a few days to people who wants to travel as me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience as an hote (I did not know couchsurfing.com at that time):

It was a Friday night as an other. I had nothing planned for the week end and was hesitationg between going to the cinema or staying at home (not very interesting). My phone rang at 18H and one of my friend from Bulgaria who was in the same city than me asked me if I one of her friend could sleep at my home for the week end. She was there for a wedding and the hotel she booked was too far in the countryside. One hour later, this girl was at my home. A really interesting and young painter from Bulgaria. I did not know her but she was a good friend of a friend and I decided to give her my keys. She could go quietly go to the wedding and rest at home while I was living my life too. We spent one evening together at home. She cooked something for me and then we went for a drink in the city together. We had a good and friendly talk. It was an unexpected and cool week end.

The kindness of a free gift:

One day I went to the kitchen of my student residence to cook something so simple that I don't even remember. An arabian girl I did not know was there with her mother came to see her daughter. Her mother was lost with the gas and I just show her how to use it. I left the kitchen and came back 5 mn later. And this woman I just helped a bit gave me a plate with meat and said "thank you very much, this for you, eat!". I was so moved by a so free gift. We forgot how this kind of gesture is simple but warm!! I ate the meat and bought some strawberries to give back the plate to them.

Interesses

I can't survive without:

- MUSIC : I really like listening to music and playing music myself (guitar). I think that music is a good way to receive and send feelings. Put headphones and the world around you changes of colour depending on waht kind of music you are listening too. Play music and show to people what is inside yourself in a way you could not express with words.

- PEOPLE : I love interactions with people. Communicating and breathing is the same. It is not possible to live without it. I really like sharing a moment of fun, stories, feelings with anyone. You think you have nothing in common with a perfect stranger. You're wrong! You both of you felt the same feelings one day or an other in your life. Stories are different, feelings are universal.

Maximo Park, Radiohead, U2, Noir Desir, Louise Attaque, Matmatah, Cranberries, KS'choice, Blur, Rage against the machin, Micked 3D, DaftPunk, Bloc Party, The beattles, Shina Ringo, ...
I fill my ipod with 10 different songs every week to discover new songs.

Books :

"Les fourmis" of Bernard Werber and all his books, "Le voyage", "Le petit prince", "The Da Vinci Code", Agatha Christie, thriller books, BD (Asterix, Spirou, ...), ...

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

- I lived a few years in one of the bigger metropolis of the world : Tokyo
- I saw the sun rise above a sea of white clouds from the top of Mont Fuji in Japan.
- I have been impressed by the kindness of the people and I have wonderful friends (and guide) in Slovakia.
- I had a really nice trip in a country where people know the importance of a smile : Thailand
- I had a one day trip really zen in Seoul
