About Me

Hi! I'm Eva, 21 years old French girl. I grew up in Biarritz and Paris and now live in Bordeaux. I am currently a student, enrolled in a Master's Degree in English and a teacher assistant in an elementary school. I obviously love to travel and meet people. I also love to cook, read, listen to music, watch movies and dance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a student who loves to learn languages and discover new countries, I figured this was an excellent way to travel and meet people.

Interests

I'm very, very curious and very, very eager to learn. Almost anything can interest me, especially if you are passionate about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes in music are, well, eclectic, to say the least. I love rock music as much as I love classical music, electronic music, variety, rap and so forth.
Same with movies.
I'm a bit of an American literature nerd though. I do love classics.

I can give you a couple of names though...

Music : The Rolling Stones, Muse, Lana Del Rey, Strauss, Gainsbourg, Mac Demarco, Baxter Dury, Arctic Monkeys, Brahms, Nina Simone, Allah Las, Lou Reed, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Anya Marina, Claptone, John Lee Hooker, Disclosure, Kasabian, Chopin, David Bowie, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Piaf, Gershwin, Parov Stelar... (I told you so...)

Movies : Tarantino, Woody Allen, Almodovar... Well, no, I can't choose. I really can't.

Books : V. Nabokov, P. Roth, W. Whitman, R.W. Emerson, E. Wharton, D. Sedaris, S. Anderson, J.D. Salinger, F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.K Rowling, S. King, D.F. Wallace, H. Lee, M. Mitchell (well, she wrote one book. But it was a good book.), Ralph Ellison... The list is way too long. Oh, and I'm a huge fan of essays.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been teaching children for three years and I'm still alive (and so are they.)

No, really, I don't know. It depends on what you think is amazing, I guess?

One amazing thing that I WILL do: live in Toronto next year.

Teach, Learn, Share

There's a reason why I want to be a teacher... I really think that teaching, learning and of course sharing, are the most amazing things one can do. We all have things to teach and to learn. As for sharing, I think it helps us being better human beings and enable us to gain immensely both at a collective level and at a personal level.
But we all like to share if we are on CS, don't we?
As to what I would teach or learn ? Ha! How should I know?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very open-minded and respectful person, so the first thing I would say has to be respect. Might seem obvious, but it is important nonetheless.
I enjoy conversations very much!
If you want to go and have a drink, or show me your city, I'm all in.
I'd also bring a little something from France. Thanking people who are nice to you (and opening your house IS nice!) is important.
Oh, and I also love to cook.
