I'm an English teacher living in German with a love of good beer, better conversations, and seeing & experiencing new cultures. I'm a big fan of live music & comics, but I also appreciate the history of those places that I've been lucky enough to visit. Other than Germany and the U.S., I have spent time studying and working in Chengdu, China

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

My favorite way to experience a new culture is through daily interactions with the local community. The people living in any place make up it's identity just as much as any historical events, and Couchsurfing allows me to meet like-minded locals who know a side of the city that no guide book could ever show me.

兴趣

Currently, I am teaching myself how to draw & play guitar. I love to hear live music, so I attend as many concerts and shows as I can afford. I'm an avid reader who enjoys drinking far more coffee than is good for me, and I love making conversation about just about anything.

Currently (my moods change with the seasons), my favorite bands are the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jenny Lewis, and the Shins. Some of my favorite films include V for Vendetta, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Warriors. Picking favorite books is incredibly hard for me, but some of my all-time favorites include Of Mice and Men, Kafka on the Shore, Catcher in the Rye, and Something Wicked This Way Comes

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

While in China, I visited the city of Yangshuo, which is nestled among the mountains, which the area is known for, and the Li River. It was insanely hot while I visited, so I went with several others upriver and through some farmland. Once we found a good spot, we floated back down to the city proper on inner tubes, surrounded by scenery that looked as if it could have been taken out of Avatar.
