About Me

An avid skier and soccer player, I have been involved in sports my entire life, but found my true passion in teaching and engineering. I am a firm believer in that it is possible to learn something from everyone, and look forward to meeting new people to see how different people think and live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently left my electrical engineering job where I have spent the last 3 years helping to grow a company, and am now focused on some bigger life skills before going back to school for my master's degree. I have always had a passion for traveling, and fell in love with both Spain and Argentina, so am looking to improve my Spanish in order to develop stronger bonds with the people I've met in each.

I am considering moving to one or the other, and am investigating some options while traveling.

Interests

I have been skiing and playing soccer since I was two, and enjoy off-roading in my jeep. I have studied electrical engineering, but mostly love to teach and study psychology. I have also been practicing my cooking skills over the past three years, and have learned a great deal about cooking a variety of meats and fish.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite authors are Dan Brown and Brandon Sanderson, and some favorite books are the Count of Monte Cristo, and The Hunger Games.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Graduated with the most difficult major at the University of Utah.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught math and English to students from all over the world, and have been very involved with academics. The best thing to do while traveling is to go off the beaten path and see things that aren't necessarily huge tourist spots. They are less crowded and often a more unique experience. Also, eat local food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a variety of Southwestern American and Mexican meals, including: bbq marinated chicken, hamburgers, burritos, and plenty of other foods with habanero and ghost pepper sauce.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
