ABOUT ME

Update Aug 2025: We just landed in Mandalay. Hope you’ll come say hi!

Update Sept 2023: We now arrived to Kuwait, back to teaching and learning. Looking forward to the experience here, and ready to host!!!

Update July 2023: I’ve been living in Khartoum now for 16 months, but recently left because of war. I was teaching and working at Unity High School as an Art teacher. We will be traveling around the globe for a few months as the unexpected change in our life has created this freedom.

I am a Mathematics Teacher at the Secondary Level. I enjoy Nature and Connections with the Environment and all who inhabit it (including our animal friends). I grew up in a small town (250 people) in the foothills of California. I've been blessed with opportunity to explore this beautiful world that we all call home, as my career and own personal desires have created such opportunities. I love to cook, craft, and hang with my 10 year old son. He's a large part of my life, and has been on this journey with me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have both hosted and surfed over the past few years, as well as attended a few events around the states. Although traveling is fun and staying with others along the way can be very nice. The opportunity to host others is truly an amazing experience. Yes we have a young son, but he doesn't stop us from enjoying and seeking happiness in our own lives. Hosting and traveling are still a priority in our lives and we look forward to sharing our lives with this wonderful community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first surfed prior to knowing about CS, I had needed a place to stay in Washington D.C., for the 2009 Inauguration. My cousin, made some phone calls and found us a place to stay. It was a great opportunity and I was surely thankful. Later in 2009, I traveled to Europe, and surfed throughout France as we drove cross country, this was the first time I had joined the CS community. The four hosts that we stayed with in France were unique and truly hospitable. I had the time of my life and I again couldn't of asked for a better experience. Thanks to everyone!!!
