ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going, up for a laugh kiwi who left NZ 5 years ago to start travelling about. Since then i've lived off and on in UK, Europe, South East Asia and Australia and I'm currently on my way back to NZ with my girlfriend, who's from Northern Ireland, to see whats changed.
I'm well keen to meet up with anyone whos got a good attitude to life and is ready to share some laughs and japes.
I've been involved in music for most of my life and play the guitar, drums, harmonica and bass (all with varying degrees of skill, or lack there of) and am into meet like minded cats who are keen for a bit of a jam.
But mostly i'm just laid back, so i'm just as happy missioning about and checking out new stuff as i am chilling out and taking it easy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm only new to this project and haven't actually surfed anywhere yet, but i'm definitely keen to get involved in hosting and meeting new people where ever i go. My errant-nomadic lifestyle has seen me living in quite a few different countries and i fully plan to live in many more, hopefully hosting surfers all over the world. I think its really important that peple from different countries and cultures meet and get to know each other in a home environment, so much understanding is gained when people see how others live and interact in their own communities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As i mentioned before, i haven't couch surfed through this website yet, but i've spent a lot of my life travelling and meeting people, who i'll quite often end up staying with for various periods of time. I've spent a lot of time travelling my home country of New Zealand and crshing on couches and floors up and down the two islands.

Music:
mostly down beat chilled out vibes at the moment like Bonobo, K&D, TM Juke, Fat freddy's and asorted reggae type bits. Also a bit o the old hip hop eg. MF Doom, Roots Manuva etc
Books:
I'll read pretty much everything and anything. I prefer authors with a bit of their own philosophy like Orwell and Huxley, but also read all sorts of contemporary books as long as theres some original thought put into it. Recent goodies White Tiger, The Corner, stuff by Iain Banks

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Visiting Angkor Wat in Cambodia about 5 years ago really blew me away. It was just the most amazing and humbling experience to be rolling about on a bicycle in the jungle, surrounded by the remnants of this ancient civilization, a lot of which we still don't really understand. Then ducking into a nearby temple as the afternoon rain shower starts, smoking a spliff and sharing ur shelter with a family of monkeys. That place is truly unreal.
