Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find out what I want to do with my life by spending some solo time abroad.
ABOUT ME
I am 23 (full adult, terrifying prospect) with no solid plans for the future. I spent the last four years studying at University in the States and am now looking for a job by traveling and seeing more of the world. I have applied to things like the Peace Corps and Foreign Service, in addition to private sector jobs abroad. I love meeting new people and my goal is to find a job that lets me meet people and spend time forging friendships. I am passionate about international development, human rights, finance and philosophy.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't think i agree with the whole, "Live every day like you might die tomorrow," because it is not a sustainable lifestyle. But I do think that one should try and experience as much as possible. I find myself in adulthood, looking back and wondering how much more I could have done, what else I could have seen and who else I could have met. I don't want to feel the same way when I turn 30. My goal is to have made a lasting impact on the lives of those I love and left the world a better place than when I arrived.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For the last two years I have been a member of the community but no one ever contacted me to stay on my couch in New Haven! I joined the two summers ago looking for places to stay in South Asia but was unsuccessful. I am couchless right now, but in the future will probably be living in the developing world and can't wait to offer travelers a place to stay.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Never! Can't wait to try it out. I have tried to both couchsurf with others and encourage strangers to couchsurf with me but to no avail.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read anything and everything. I recently read The Architecture of Happiness, Persepolis, White Tiger, The Stranger, and Collapse. I enjoy most books that havewon the Man Booker award.
Music - My musical taste is a bit Philistinic I suppose. I enjoy whatever is playing on the radio. Laid back music is great but anything goes - rock, reggae hiphop etc.
Movies - Im a big fan of Danish movies (Brodre, After the Wedding, Black Book). But I see the Hollywood blockbusters and enjoy them as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked Mt. Elgon on the Ugandan side of the Uganda/Kenya border. It was a stunningly spiritual experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn how to be better with my hands. I am no good with cars, carpentry, electronics, etc. I have thought about spending a year working on housing projects in the American south to fix this. I also want to learn more about global finance and better understand risk.
I love to discuss the world. International politics is a passion and I keep up to date on current events at all time (I am glued to NYtimes.com constantly). I am pretty good with computers as well.
