READ! READ! READ! READ! READ! READ! READ! READ! READ! READ!
Here's a tip: READ YOUR POTENTIAL HOST'S PROFILE COMPLETELY BEFORE SENDING YOUR REQUESTS. If that is very difficult for you, well sorry I just don't find it appealing to consider hosting you. You'll just get the quickest, sweetest or nicest declines. That's all, just calm and sweet, in the chocolate way for sure. :-) AND I DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO HOST ANYONE.
Just trying to avoid the "apt diggers" ("Surfers that claim to wanna sharing a social experience, but sees you as a motel or hotel). I don't do last min host, rarely I would host if last min. I suggest you request at 5 days prior. Which means unfortunately I don't do last min requests within those days. Not a policy, but courtesy.
I do not host anyone for one night, because it just comes off as "pit stop" or "layover." I can't "share"or offer to "learn" about my city overnight, literally then leave the next day. I am sure it is possible, but that defeats the purpose of what CS is really about. I wanna make sure it is a great experience for the both of us. I joined CS to make friends and extend my culture values to my peers and friends. I am not a motel or hotel, if you need one I have some recommendations that I would be glad to share.
I won't host anyone if your profile or message doesn't have enough information about you. It just tells me you didn't put the effort on your profile. Because think about it, I am letting a stranger stay in my place which is an experience I am willing to share. But if I don't have an idea about you socially or informational wise, I am nowhere going to be comfortable for a stranger to stay at my place. Especially when you don't have any legit references which gives me a rough idea who you are.
I understand you need somewhere to lay your head, but you gotta think, it's a risk that the host is taking to host you vice versa. Common courtesy is greatly appreciated.
Want to share my culture and experiences to others who are willing to learn, and vice versa
If you find reading my profile to get acquainted really difficult before sending me a request. Trust me, I am not your potential host. I'll give quick responses/declines to those requests. And I do have the right to refuse to host anyone I please, so don't get offended. If so, just get a hostel or hotel, because CS isn't that service for that.
Please! Please! Please! Do not send me a request first. Send me a message first and tell me why i will enjoy hosting you and why my experience with you will be fun.
My name is Evens not Evans, so be mindful of that. I won't even consider to host you if you can't even get my name right addressing me.
There is a time for everything, and respect yourself. Care for others as you would for yourself. You only live once, and live it as it is your last. Live the moments with no regrets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well my best friend France, was telling me about this site, and how he hosted some new friends which is a great opportunity to make new friends and share with them my culture and make they experience as fun as possible. I have been hosting some surfers, I have been away because I have been busy. But now I am back and wanna show people how beautiful and fun LA is besides what they show on TV.
I am looking to expand my experiences and create new ones.
There a lot of things, let's see here. I like to dance (not competition or battle), I mean at club (hip hop or reggae preferred).
I am addicted to photography and have been doing it for over 12 years.
Fitness freak might be an understatement, but I love working out and eating healthy. Hence which leads me to cooking, I enjoy cooking mostly carribbean influence cuisine but I do cook different dishes. Mostly cook for myself and clients, don't mind cooking for surfers, as long they are willing to pitch in for food. Because honestly this is LA, everything is expensive from food and cost of living. So it would be appreciated and thoughtful if the surfer pitch in to enjoy the food. If they have their own food, fine by me, it's no biggie.
I love to workout and run 5k for breakfast or do them so much that I even do them in my sleep. I am a personal trainer on my off days from work, health and nutrional chef.
My best friend and I started our own fitness company and clothing line called: Fit Is Fashion. Check it out: www.fitisfashion.com More likely women's clothes, gym and casual. If you do like some of the clothes, affordable, and very comfortable. If you would like to purchase it and unable to purchase it online, I can get it for you at the warehouse.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love music and movies, I have a like a billion songs and movies. As for books........I read when it is something constructive that I could learn from it. As in everyday life of course, I am an avid comic book reader and have a little collection of some classics. I enjoy reading them when ever chance I get other than working and working out
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think mine is a combination of both, I have experience that when I first traveled to Europe to party and visit. I had no idea how fun it is to go to Europe and party then make some new friends. I enjoying making new friends everywhere I go.
And the lastly amazing thing that I have done, is moving out here in LA. It was the best decision I did. Next stop EUROPE!
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't know about the teaching, but I do like to share my culture, some person aspects of myself. If you are open minded and have a great sense of humor, come on down. If not, look away. I don't host quiet, boring, and introverts. Sorry, not signing up for that. If you decide to send me a request via message on here, include this password "HaitianSensationLA" anywhere in the message, that way I will know you took time to read my profile. No password in your message I just won't accept your request period.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An experience and a good time. As you see in my references, I try my best to lookout for my guest. That being said, I live near public transportation which is easier. But I still recommend my guest to use Uber (cheaper than the cab in most cases) to get around, for those who doesn't have it. ANY SURFER COMING FROM THE AIRPORT OR WHERE EVER, YOU CAN GET A FIRST FREE RIDE USING UBER! By using my promo code: UBERCHOCOLATECHEFLA
everywhere is reaching distance so it is going to be free. Don't have to worry about catching the bus or whatever.
