Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now my plan is to spend some time in Vienna/ Austria. A city I'm really curious to get to know. Because of the beautiful old buildings, the great art scene (especially the Wiener Aktionismus, which will be the subject of my Bachelor Abschlussarbeit), the Burgtheater, the old Kaffeehäuser with all the arty anecdotes, FM4 and last but nor least the lovely Austrian accent. After my return to Berlin (yes, I will definitly come back) I can imagine to host peolpe myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Actually I haven't been surfing so far and neither did I have any hosts. So I decided that's it's time to start; first because so many friends of mine talk and talk and talk about their great Couchsurfing experiences and second because my favourite neighbour-flat hosts lots of people and we love to get to know them sitting in the kitchen and talking about travelling, food (quite important issue!), human relationships etc etc or as you would say in German: Über Gott und die Welt. So... I'm looking forward to my own experiences!

Interests

Definitly: Art. Photography, Movies. Fine Art. Theatre! Sharing time with my friends. Books and the newspaper (ZEIT). Going out, electronic music, minimal... Walking through my hometown, listening to good music and dreaming. FM4, my favourite radio station (unfortunately in Berlin only by web stream). Cooking alone and cooking with friends. Drinking wine in my favourite Bar in Berlin (KPTN!).

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Fight Club, Everything from Michael Haneke, Ulrich Seidel, Fatih Akin.
All time favourite which makes me still laugh soooo loud:
Immer nie am Meer (with the fabolous Heinz Strunk!)
Music: Electronic stuff: Minimal, Techno... Right now it's Extrawelt, Kollektiv Turmstraße and Pantha Du Prince but that changes quite fast. Apart from that I also enjoy stuff like Queens of the Stone Age, Tocotronic, The Kills... Also that changes.
Books: Huh, lots of! My hero: Rainald Goetz, Michel Houellebecq, Harald Martenstein (makes me laugh aloud in the Subway). Poems by Rimbaud and Baudelaire. The best book I've been reading recently: Judith Hermann, "Nichts als Gespenster".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are definitly more than one, two, three amazing things I have done in my lifetime. One could be: My decision to move from my tiny little hometwon in the south of Germany to Berlin – where I have met so many great people and found some really good friends and where I had amazing minutes, hours, days...

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to get to know new ideas for cooking. Try the specialties of a foreign country... On the other hand I can show you some good German stuff. What is also quite important for me is to experinece the art scene of the city I stay in. We can go to the theatre or to exhibitions together and afterwards we can talk about it :)
