Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Evelyn. A world traveler with a backpack full of curiosity (and sometimes yoga mats). I’ve called Vancouver home for 8 years, where I split my love between urban adventures—city life, art, food, and culture—and the wild call of nature, especially the mountains.
Traveling for me is about more than just seeing places; it’s about connecting with people, hearing their stories, and sharing a laugh (or a glass of wine). I love discovering local gems through the eyes of those who live there.
As a guest, I’m respectful, easygoing, and independent (having an unbeatable Airbnb review page for 10 years, now super new to Couch surfing)—I’m happy to share travel stories, cook a simple meal, or just give you space if that’s what you prefer. Whether it’s a bustling city or a quiet mountain town, I thrive in both worlds and would love to connect through Couchsurfing’s spirit of community and adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used Airbnb for 10 years for different experience until it doesn’t feel the same anymore.
I’m on Couchsurfing because travel, to me, is about people as much as places. I love exploring new cities and landscapes, but what makes them truly memorable are the connections—sharing stories over a meal, swapping tips about hidden spots, or just getting a glimpse of everyday life in someone else’s world. Hotels don’t offer that.
I know how valuable it is to have a local’s perspective. Couchsurfing feels like the perfect way to both experience that and pay it forward.

Music, Movies, and Books
I naturally gravitate toward house and techno for their rhythm and flow. But I also have a soft spot for the classics, British rock like Queen, and the occasional EDM anthem.
I’m endlessly curious about two things - 1. what others are listening to—always asking friends for their Spotify lists—and love how music becomes a window into someone’s world. Whether it’s the soundtrack to a solo walk, a retreat playlist, or background music for a gathering, music is one of the most consistent companions in my life. 2. What’s a pro bartender’s recommendation for local bars. My tolerance for alcohol is not typically high but I appreciate the art and craft of mixology. Been to a few nice bars here and there while travelling, always fascinated with people’s passion project of making fun and balanced flavours.
A lover of all things sensory - drawing inspiration from a wide range of passions: the subtleties of coffee, tea, and wine tasting; the artistry of cocktail mixology; and the complexity of fragrance and dining experiences. I integrate all these passions into my own curation. I’m a yoga retreat host with a pretty frequent travel schedule.
I enjoy visually rich, emotionally layered films with strong storytelling. My favorite directors are Christopher Nolan and Ang Lee, and some of my top picks include Inception, Lust, Caution, Dune, and Coco, also a big fan of Harry Potter 4-7, my international flight must. I’m open to a wide range of genres—especially psychological thrillers and stylistic pieces like those by Wes Anderson—but I usually skip horror, Solo traveller, need to stay brave.
mostly read non-fiction, with a strong interest in psychology, human behavior, relationships and biographies. I love books that help me better understand people and the world around me. While I occasionally dip into fiction, I’m more drawn to real stories and insights.

And millions of travel stories on the road
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching is a strong word. Not here to be anyone's teacher (again). But if you’re curious, I’m always happy to share a few mindful tips or stories from the road.
Always eager to learn, about your culture, traditions, language, and the little stories that make your city unique.
And what I’d love to share is simple: a connection, some good conversation, and maybe a couch or floor to crash on so I get the chance (and luck!) to experience your city through your eyes.
