About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be open to as much learning as possible in this lifetime. To lead by example. To bring a smile to the face of others. To help young people learn that they are part of an interconnected web of life.

PHILOSOPHY

I choose my work as a public shool teacher because it serves others with compassion while meeting my own needs for connection. I live my life with increasing simplicity and the desire for quiet space every day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I encourage my students, friends, and family to understand more about the impact of their food choices and environmental footprint on the systems that they are a part of. I produce no garbage from my household. I treat other people with respect and try to understand how they choose to live without judgement. I enjoy my life and encourage others to enjoy theirs!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only one so far! The lovely Bob and Carol in Utah last year. It was a wonderful experience to get to know them as individuals and learn from them about the local places. I'm still so grateful for their warmth and kindness.

Interests

Local agriculture, environmental education, meditation, yoga, running, enjoying the present moment, beautiful photographs, my wonderful family, travel, sustainable design, great red wine, delicious food.....

I've seen teenagers with profound challenges in their lives push themselves and achieve more than they, or anyone else, thought possible of them.
