I am studying Arabic language and culture in Leipzig (currently finishing my bachelor's degree with my bachelor's thesis on the activism against sexual harassment in Cairo). I would consider myself spontaneous, talkative (for most of the time) but also rigid (maybe radical) when it comes to political discussions. I have made some efforts to understand something and got a little closer, I guess.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I have been doing couchsurfing for four years now, first hosting with two of my flatmates in Berlin, then doing a two months eurotrip and hosting again in Leipzig. So check the shared profiles I used before to read more (thesquirrel/Berlin, panamaniacs/Sao Paolo)
I have made a few pretty unique experiences during couchsurfing – and after an extended stay for three weeks I can really call someone not only a couchsurfing acquaintance, but a real friend. But also short meetings with people have been really inspiring to me.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I do like reading, especially early 20th century and post-modern literature. I try to learn poems by heart again.
Recently, I started to become more engaged with theory after some years of stagnance, and participate in "translib" a project of communist library and theory formation. I read up on feminist critiques on economy (from Luxemburg to Fededrici), critical theory and feminism.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I can offer you some funny anecdotes about travelling on a dug out canoe along the border to Congo or killing a goat on Christmas eve , if you are interested.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach some basic language skills in Swahili and Arabic. Unfortunately, my practical skills don’t reach much further then rolling cigarettes and opening beer bottles with a lighter (respectively: spoon, knife, stone).
I will recite you some poems and generally read to you, if you want (which I love to do).
