Overview
About Me
Evie (pronounced “E-V.”) I’m 23, from Guangdong, China, and currently diving into the European chapter of my life while studying for a Master in Management at ESCP’s Paris campus.
Life’s an open world game to me, and every day’s a new adventure.
I’m all about movement, whether it’s street dance moves, hiking trails, or hitting a tennis court. Comedy keeps life fun (movies, stand-up, etc. ), and meditation keeps me balanced. Solo backpacking is where I thrive. I’ve explored Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Bali, and some of the most breathtaking islands in the Philippines and Thailand. Everywhere I go, I love connecting with people and soaking in every moment life throws my way.
I'm obsessed with theater as well. Watching plays, musicals, and dance performances inspires me, and I worked behind the scenes on Sleep No More Shanghai. it taught me how much magic goes into creating an unforgettable show. Languages are my thing too. I speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English fluently, and I’m leveling up my Spanish, German, and French.
My motto, 落子无悔 (Make your move and own it), is about embracing decisions and the adventures they lead to. It’s why I love Yes Theory, their “seek discomfort” mindset inspires me to step out of my comfort zone and fully live each moment.
As a Couchsurfing guest, I’m respectful, tidy, and always up for good vibes and better conversations. If you’re ever in Guangdong/Shanghai, I’d love to show you around—dim sum, hidden gems, and a true local experience (slippers included).
Here’s a city walk map I crafted from four years of living in Shanghai, packed with the most authentic and essential spots. Enjoy exploring!

"bloody merry girl" by she her her hers, that's some dream pop that worth checking out!
as for movies, it's all about comedies! some of my favs:
She's the Man, White Chicks, Waterboys, Infernal Affairs, Whiplash, Big Hero 6, Fireflies in the Forest, Rick and Morty, Princess Mononoke, The Dreamers, Love Letter, Kung Fu Hustle, Your Name, 3 Idiots, Spider-Man, The Borrower Arrietty, Horimiya, Run with the Wind, etc!
Among the characters, I particularly like Xieyuchen from Grave Robbers' Chronicles, Princess Mononoke's Ashitaka, Ghost of Tsushima's Jin, Detroit: Become Human's Marcus, Assassin's Creed's Evie Frye, Big Hero 6's Baymax, and Watch Dogs 2's Marcus and Wrench.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
spent a week training Muay Thai in Chiang Mai, fought off a guy who tried to steal my phone in the rainy streets of Barcelona, hiked 13 km in the rain with a stranger in Mallorca, ate my way through Phuket and Krabi (I can now make a mean Pad Thai!), meditated in Bali, climbed the stairs at Keling Keling Beach (before the elevator was fixed, haha), snorkeled at Napaling in Bohol, rented a scooter in Coron and soaked in hot springs, fed the fierce deer in Nara, arrived in Osaka on Christmas to enjoy a delicious sushi meal with my host, hiked in the mountains around Madrid, stargazed from a hotel terrace in Tangier, and jammed to music while learning to dance with a girl i just knew. Life's good!
