Hey!

I'm an avid consumer of all things weird and different. I like to travel but haven't done it near as much as i'd like to. I like meeting new people, hearing tall tales from the world apart from our sleepy little isles in the south pacific.
Big fan of the forest, of the beach, the mountains and all things natural. Big fan of hiking and would happily show you some of the nicer places i've been. I've been a scout leader for just under 3 years and very much love teaching and nurturing peoples love for the outdoors.
I like writing fantasy stories and talking shit about how the world could be. Big fan of solarpunk. Looking forward to a world like that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mostly i just want to meet new people and find people that want to go and do things and talk shit about anything and nothing.
Every so often i might want to go and stay with people but not in the near future.

Interests

I love history, learning about it, going to historical places. It's all so damn fascinating for me.
Firedancing. Its how i once made my living and I love it.
Theatre. In particular i love improvisation. i'm not amazing but i love to play it.
I do alot of hitch hiking and busking across the country. thats how i spend alot of my time.
Oh books too. and skiing and just the outdoors in general. i love the bush.

Big fan of Andrew Bird, Fazerdaze, Current Joys, Emancipator, Bonobo and in a jarring departure from those more chill tunes, Wingnut Dishwashers Union

I like Cixin Liu's Three Body Problem trilogy. it is far and away the best sci-fi i've ever read. Also Game of Thrones is a great set of books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When i was in Scouts i went to a jamboree in Australia. As part of the international contingent of the jamboree we were expected to do a haka for the other internationals. When we formed up and started performing the Fijians formed up infront of us and did a haka as we did. we slowly moved closer and closer until we were in each others faces. it was one of the craziest feelings. so much adrenaline.
