Overview
About Me
My name is Evol. I am a very adventurous guy who lived in tons of different places. In fact I never lived in a same city for more than two years. So travelling and experiencing new thing had became a part me.
I believe that by looking at the world from different angles and perspectives we can find truths. And perspective is not something we can learn by reading a book or watching a documentary. It can only be acquired by actually experiencing it in person, which requires us to take the risk and push ourselves out of comfort zone.
Besides traveling, I am a very ambitious person when it comes to the professional career. I am quite passionate about sustainability and energy use, and my goal is to become one of the pioneers in the industry. My potential plan is to become a part of a start-up that brings more optimal technology to increase the energy efficiency in buildings, and expand from there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet more open minded people. And get to know a place better by interacting with locals.
Interests
I am a very physically active person.
Currently I am training for boxing 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. My goal is to have my first amateur fight by the end of this year.
And I love hiking, especially in nature. I would hike in state parks by myself one a while to get my mind off of things.
I also like social dancing. I was in my university's ballroom competition team for a year.
Last but not the least, I love singing as well. I love impersonating Sinatra lol.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'm a movie fanatic. Every time when a movie comes out I would wait a few days after the release. And if it has a good ratings I would watch it for sure. My all time favorites are: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Man from Earth, Godfather I&II, and The Dark Knight.
Music: I appreciate good music in general. But I do have a strong liking towards jazz. In fact I am currently taking jazz vocal and drumming lessons.
Books: I mostly read non-fiction and business books. Once a while I would read a romantic novel if have the feels for it. My favorite book is: Man's Search for Meaning.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I came to United States alone at age of 16 to achieve my dreams and to have better education. It took a lot of courage and risk but it was still the best decision I had made in my life.
Not long ago I decided to join U.S. army to earn my citizenship. Now I am a proud member of U.S. army and I will be shipped to my boot camp training next January.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Well I speak Korean and Mandarin so I can give some free language lessons. I can also teach yo u how to dance ballroom and some boxing techniques.
Learn: Anything, I am very open minded towards new things.
Share: I can share my stories and experience of adapting and eventually embracing a completely different culture when I first came to United States. I also like cooking in general. I'd be happy to share some recipe of my own (I can cook killer steaks).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Like I said above I can share my experience of adapting to a completely different culture. There are a lot of funny and bitter sweet stories I can share.
To show my gratitude I would definitely cook you a nice steak dinner, and some cocktail drinks afterwards because I love making them as well.
