Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Viajar é minha maior paixão, apesar de ter viajado bem menos do que gostaria devido a limitações de tempo e grana... Mas é por isso que estou no CS: mesmo quando não posso viajar, ainda posso conhecer viajantes do mundo todo e compartilhar histórias de viagens!

COMO EU PARTICIPO DO COUCHSURFING
Comecei a viajar sozinha em 2010 e nunca mais parei. Ficar num mesmo lugar por muito tempo sem poder viajar é uma prisão torturante. E a comunidade do CS é uma parte muito importante dessa jornada, não só por ser uma ferramenta poderosa para planejar viagens - seja para ter um lugar para ficar ou para conseguir as melhores dicas com pessoas locais - mas também para poder compartilhar um pouco da minha cidade com visitantes que passam por aqui.

No meu grupo de melhores amizades da vida toda, estão muitas pessoas que conheci no Cs, seja nos encontros semanais, nas invasões e nos Nacionais!

EXPERIÊNCIA NO COUCHSURFING
Já surfei em muitos lugares dos EUA, Europa e Brasil! Comecei a frequentar os encontros mensais nos EUA, em Connecticut, onde morei por 2 anos. Nos 8 meses que morei em Vigo, na Espanha, também foi muito bem recebida pela comunidade local, frequentando os encontros semanais e mensais sempre que possível.
Ao voltar ao Brasil, tentei ir ao máximo de encontros na minha cidade e em cidades que estou visitando, além de ir em muitas invasões no Rio, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Uberlândia, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Brasília, Goiânia, etc! Sempre experiências incríveis!

Nas minhas viagens pela Europa, surfei em Madri, Barcelona, Dresden, Paris e Bruxelas, mas conheci pessoas pelo hang out e nos encontros semanais/mensais em Barcelona, Dresden, Munique, Berlim, Frankfurt, Praga, Bruxelas, Guent, Paris, Porto, Dublin e Viena. Experiências inesquecíveis!

WHY I'M ON COUCHSURFING
Travelling is my biggest passion even though I have done so little of it yet due to time and money limitations... But that's why Im on CS: because even when I can't travel, I can still meet up with travellers from around the world and 'travel' in their stories!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Back in 2010 I got the 'travel bug' that has haunted me since then, making staying at one place and not traveling feel like a torturous prison. And CS community was a big part of it, not just as a powerful tool for traveling - either by having a place to crash or someone to talk to about the places I'm going - and also sharing a little bit of my hometown when we get visitors.

I have also made lifelong friendships with other local CSers and our great meetings, Invasions and Nationals!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed in a lot of places both in USA, in Europe and in Brazil! Met CSers regularly just to hang out both while traveling around in the US and in Connecticut, where I lived for 2 years! Same for when I was living in Spain and I was welcomed to Vigo CS community and I love to go to our weekly and monthly meetings. Back in Brazil, I tried to go to as many meetings we have in my town and also neighboring towns, but also met CSers when I visited Rio, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Uberlândia, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Brasília, Goiânia, etc!! Always amazing experiences!

On my travels to Europe, I have surfed in Madrid, Barcelona, Dresden, Paris and Brussels, and met people just to hang out in Barcelona, Dresden, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Prague, Brussels, Ghent, Paris, Porto, Dublin and Vienna. All great experiences!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fui a celebrante do casamento da minha irmã caçula, bem no estilo do Joey em FRIENDS (mesmo o uniforme da Primeira Guerra Mundial). Foi muito legal não só estar lá no dia especial dela, mas também poder planejar um dicurso divertido sobre ela e o marido dela!
Com uma boa nerd que gosta de história, tocar uma coluna arquitetônica bem preservada da época do Império Romano foi algo muito legal. Mal posso esperar para sair na minha próxima aventura em breve e poder conhecer mais do mundo!

I was the minister who officiated my little sister's wedding "a la Joey" from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (sans the World War I uniform). It was awesome not only to be there with her on her special day but also to be able to plan a fun speech about her and her husband!
As a history nerd, touching a fairly well-preseved column from old Roman Empire was pretty neat as well.
Can't wait to be able to go on my next adventure sometime soon and see even more of the world!

Teach, Learn, Share

Como infelizmente ninguém vira professora para ficar rica, ensinar é algo pelo qual sou verdadeiramente apaixonada, ao ponto de fazer até de graça se for o caso. E a única cosisa que eu gosto mais do que ensinar é viajar! Podemos falar de idiomas, educação, história, política, viagens e muitos outros assuntos!

Sadly, nobody becomes a teacher because they want to get rich... So teaching is something you need to be passionate about to the point of doing it for free if you have to. And the only thing I love more than teaching is learning. We can talk about languages, education, history, politics, travelling and many other topics!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tenho muitas histórias engraçadas e curiosidades nerd para compartilhar. Prometo que não vai haver tédio. Não sou muito boa na cozinha, mas sempre ajudo indo fazer mercado, lavando louça e seguindo instruções bem específicas sobre o que e como cortar os ingredientes quando alguém está controlando a cozinha.

I have plenty of funny stories and nerd-ish information to share. You will not be bored.
I can't really cook but my grocery shopping and dish washing skills are remarkable so I always help when given really specific instructions of what to chop and how in a cook-out meeting!
