我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

For the experience, to meet new people, travel in an alternative way and just have fun :)

I will be going to Hawaii for 3 months in September. I have always dreamt about visiting the islands and after years of building my courage to go travelling on my own, I have finally booked my flights. I have always been intrigued by Polynesian cultures, especially Hawaiian. That's why I would like to get to know locals, or people who's lived there for a while and would be able to teach me a little bit about the history, culture, language, food, sights, activities, etc (which I am reading about extensively in my spare time anyway). I would love to have an ultimate Hawaiian experience full of surfing, hula dancing and spreading the aloha spirit. I will also be volunteering for 1,5 months on a farm on the Big Island, so that I can be close to nature and give back for just being able to spend some time in paradise.

What I'm NOT using Couchsurfing for is dating, so if this is your motive to Meet up, please refer to sites dedicated for that specifically.

Music - I am currently volunteering at Sofar Sounds, so I attend quite a lot of gigs,
Movies and tv shows - used to study film production briefly,
Travelling - not enough though, I went to New Zealand and Australia last year and this was by far the biggest travel bit I did; my favorite place in Europe is Portugal where I go back every year,
Cooking and baking - there's nothing better than a home cooked meal,
Surfing - I'm a total beginner, still learning when I can and in the meantime watch surf films and comps,
Meeting new people & their cultures .

I like all kinds of music and what I listen to depends on my mood. My recent playlists consist of Arcade Fire, Vera Blue, Flume, Fat Freddy's Drop..
Similarly, I watch all sorts of movies from comedies, drama, action, documentaries.. I can't handle horrors though!
