ABOUT ME

mmmm.... I am 26 years old, and am busy discovering the world! I love learning about different cultures, meeting locals and hearing their stories. I love the road less traveled but am also up for the corny 'pose like you're pushing over the leaning tower of Pisa' shots.

I love a good sunny day at the beach, but also enjoy a strenuous mountain climb or steep ski slope. I am very outdoorsy, love taking photos, and camping.

My favorite all time food is pizza - I could eat it everyday. Second would be pasta... basically love Italian food... as long as its vegetarian!

PHILOSOPHY

I will not let my fears limit me - I do not let little things that I am afraid of (ie/ heights) stand in my way of amazing opportunities (ie/ skydiving which I recently did!).
Definitely always testing my limits. Putting myself out of comfort zone - I am learning more about myself and what I am capable of! I think that is very important.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I graduated University in April 2007, worked and travelled in Europe for 2 years (couchsurfing as I travelled), and now am back home to 'pay forward' the wonderful hospitality I received in Europe.

To be honest, I first started CSing to save a bit of cash but have found it to be so much more... It is like having a family for a short amount of time. Someone to make sure you arrive, give you tips, help you out, make sure you get home safe, have amazing conversations with, swap cultures, great laughs, new friends, and someone to see you off when you are ready for the next stage of your journey.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met so many people with an overwhelming amount of kindness and I have made some lifelong friends through this project and I really hope that they all come to surf mine in Canada!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

mmmm...
Two years ago I shaved my head to raise money for Angel Hair for Kids... and I donated my hair (12 inches) to them to make a wig for a child that has lost their hair because of illness. It was pretty amazing, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone that donated, and has truly been a rewarding experience. I really enjoyed the short locks, especially while traveling - made getting ready in the mornings so easy!

Teach, Learn, Share

Buy fruit and veggies in markets. Support the local farmers and eat cheap, fresh food!

Try everything once but don't eat yellow snow.
