ABOUT ME

I'm working as a production assistant out her in LA. It means I work whenever I can and scrabble desperately for food in the meantime. It's not glamorous, but I like what I do. I'm hoping to one day become a DP.

I'm a fun loving realist, and a Virgo that was meant to be a fire sign. I love adventure, the outdoors and trying anything once. Except maybe skydiving.

PHILOSOPHY

I've found that whenever I'm at my lowest, I'm always in the position I need to be in to experience something I need to experience. I also try to remember that I'm never done growing as a person, and that every person I meet has something to teach me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had an open couch while I lived in Prague, and right now I'm working on my roommate to see if I can get him to agree to opening our couch in LA. It's a nice couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never actually couch surfed. Hopefully I'll get the chance soon though.

兴趣

I'm first and foremost interested in the way humans communicate and express ideas with each other. I think that's what drew me to making films in the first place. Language is a barrier that divides us, but an image transcends boundaries. When you can convey so much with a still image then imagine what a well made moving picture, with 24 images per second can show...

Other than my passion for communicating, I love music, specifically folk, rock, jazz and blues.

I'm an avid outdoors enthusiast. I camp, hike, rock climb, white water raft, canoe and kayak.

I also love paintballing.

I won't go into movies, because I study them all the time and I have too many favorites.

I love reading anything by Jeanette Winterson. Oranges are Not the Only Fruit is one of my favorite books, as is Written on the Body.

Chris Pureka is currently my favorite musician. Not many people know about her yet, so check her out. She's a folk rock singer-songwriter channeling Dylan, Gillian Welch and Patty Griffin.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When I moved to Prague, I was homesick for the first time in my life. I was feeling generally terrible, and wanted to get back on the plane and go to the states. At the moment I was at my worst, standing at a tram to go back to my apartament, I met two older women that were speaking in accented English.

We had a conversation, and it turned out one was a diplomat for the Netherlands, and it was her last week in Prague. The other was from Canada, and had made friends with the first a long time ago. They were rekindling their friendship after years apart.

Meeting them and hearing their stories reminded me why I wanted to travel, and made me feel less alone.
