After finishing my PHD studies in June 2015 I am now cycling from the Northcape in Norway to Istanbul in Turkey through Eastern Europa. While I am on the way I would love to come by your place and learn about your countries and cities.

My passions were always found in sports as an active athlete in basketball, volleyball and on the swimming team as well as a sports manager and coach of my hometown basketball team during school and the early years of my bachelor studies. Today & after work I enjoy going for a run, cycling and climbing.

I have also been fortunate to enjoy my love for travel, visiting many countries on scuba diving and snowboarding trips, trekking and mountaineering expeditions as well as crossing the Australian continent by bicycle in 2009. I am currently planning my next trip through Eastern Europe from the North Cape in Norway to Troy in Turkey.

Besides sports and travel I enjoy drinking cold beers with warm hearted people, listening to other peoples adventures, fantasizing of my own upcoming adventures, reading about and discussing scientific topics.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Cycling Australia: I was never a big cyclist and only used an old bike as a means of cheap and student-friendly transport in the city. That changed in the 2009. After deciding to cross a continent by myself independant of cars, trains or busses it came down to either walking or cycling. As I didn't have the time to walk, I decided to buy a bike and cycle through the Australian Outback from Darwin to Melbourne. Unprepared and untrained I left for down under to realize that I didn't really like cyling, with headwinds and a sore behind not making things better. But during the weeks and months on the road I got fitter and fitter and found myself enjoying peddling through calm mornings of the outback and through the cool eucalyptus forests of South Australia. After cycling for 3 months and 5000 km I reached my final destination with one thought in my head - to cycle the rest of the world
