Hi! My name is Fabio I´m 22 and currently studying Sociology and Politics in Berlin, Germany. Although I´m still young, travelling has been my passion for many years and usually I worked during my school holidays to finance my upcoming trips. I love embracing new cultures, blending in as well as possible and making unforgettable memories. From every trip to a new culture I get inspired do adopt some parts onto my own lifestyle to be a better person ultimately.
I´m addicted to watching all kinds of sports but especially football (soccer) and basketball and I also like to play it in my freetime aswell. Other than that I like to be around people, having meaningful conversations with them but sometimes I also retreat to read a book or just watch a movie.
When I´ve got time I also enjoy learning new languages. I´m lucky that my mother is brazilian hence why grew up speaking german und portuguese, which made it easy to learn french and spanish. I believe that learning the local language is a key to meet amazing people and to show the will to blend in the society. Therefore I´m always open to learn some basics of your native language :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first connection to Couchsurfing came when I was reading a book called "Couchsurfing in Iran". While it was not possible via the platform the spirit of Couchsurfing was already in the hospitable society of the Iranians so the author got way too many invitations to respond to. I liked this system of being able to meet fellow travelers and to live with locals, which I like much better than being in a multi-star hotel chain.

My first proper experience with Couchsurfing came when I was traveling to Burundi with two friends and we stayed in the house of a super hospitable and friendly family who treated us as one of their own. I believe that I wouldn´t have had this experience wihtout couchsurfing so I decided that I have to become a member aswell, so here I am!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a volunteer in Rwanda for one year and it was by far the best year of my life. I made friends for life and I involved a lot as a human being.
Travelling Solo through Pakistan using CS and meeting some incredible people.

I believe that everyone can share memories and experiences of traveling to countries. I further think that being from different cultures it´s always exciting to learn and understand eachothers perspectives of approaching certain topics.
