ABOUT ME

I'm back in Minneapolis now. I'm trying to figure out what I will be doing here.

This is what I did last year:

I'm an American in Berlin, studying urban planning. I'm taking a planning class in German, which is improving very, very slowly.

This year, I'm doing research on sustainable urban development. My question: what makes a sustainable or "green" neighborhood? My favorite part is mobility (getting around without having to drive), looking at what makes a city nice to walk in, go by bicycle or use public transit. Additionally, buildings that use less energy and water, cleaning or reusing stormwater, and have green roofs are cool too.

PHILOSOPHY

addressing global warming through city planning and development... after all, half of the world's people live in cities now.

and on a less serious note, I think the best conversations are often located outside and over a bottle of wine or perhaps a beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I keep meeting new couchsurfing friends of my friends... it seems to work out well. Maybe I can meet some friends myself now.
