ABOUT ME

Our home is in Parkdale, near Mordialloc, which is a bayside suburb of Melbourne. We are a family of four; Michael and Kate both in their thirties now (and have moved out) and parents Elaine and Phil.
We live in a suburb 35 min south east from the heart of Melbourne by train and it is a 10 minute walk to our home from the local railway station. Our train service is very good about every 20 minutes to and from the City, and half hourly on weekends.
Beaches of Port Phillip Bay are close by (15 minute walk to the Bay beach of Parkdale from our home) and the Mornington Peninsula is 1 hour away. Phillip Island where the fairy penguins have a large colony is over an hours drive.
We have a comfortable fold out single bed in the study and if a couple to stay we have mattresses that can go on the floor and sometimes a double spare room.
We do not have permanent pets, but are volunteer puppy carers for Seeing Eye Dogs Australia. We are also backyard beekeepers.
There is no smoking in the house, but people are welcome to smoke out in our garden.
We are happy to share a home cooked meal on the day of your arrival, but it is then up to you to contribute to the food, (when you apply to CS with us please mention you have read this, so as we know you understand you need to contribute to the food). We can supply bedding and towels. We welcome guests for 2 days maybe longer if we have the time, and depending on how we all get on. We consider verified and referenced surfers only.
Elaine works (admin) part time, Phil (now retired) worked in engineering.

Phil and Michael cycling and music. Elaine kayaking, rowing, cooking and craft. Kate reading, music, sport and travel. We all love the beach, camping and travelling.

Between the four of us it is a wide range but in general Kate is the movie buff, Michael music and Elaine books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Each of us had a different 'amazing' moment.
But it was amazing and wonderful that we have travelled around Australia together as a family for 9 months and are now all off on our own adventures both overseas and in Australia.
