About Me

Hi! I am new to CouchSurfing. I am planning to travel to Boston (for the first time!) in August and I am looking for a comfy place to stay. I just received my BA degree in Psychology in May and I am going to do some research in a psychology lab for a while until I get accepted into a master program. I have traveled to a lot of places, including Taiwan, Thailand, Germany, France, Switzerland, US, and Mexico (I am originally from China). I am very excited to be here and looking forward to meeting people from different walks of life, embarking on new journeys, and most important of all, having a good time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great platform to meet fellow human beings who are also open-minded, conversational, culturally curious, adventurous and fun-loving. I am currently looking for people to host me, but I hope to do the same in the not-so-distant future! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Eighty Ninety, Westlife, Why Don't We, Ed Sheeran, Bastille, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Sam Smith...
I have a wide range of interests in music, just like my taste for foods. I am known for being not picky, as long as it is good music/food (in my opinion, of course).
I love reading novels and comics. Anything that digs deeper than the surface (or satisfies my guilty pleasure).
My favorite movies of all times are the animated films produced by Hayao Miyazaki.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done a lot of amazing things. :) I guess the most amazing thing that I have never regretted doing is changing my major to Psychology at the end of junior year and then spending the last year of college finishing me new major while doing research on the side. Although my decision brought a lot of changes to my life, and I had to start over in my career planning, at the end of the day, I think it would be all worth it, even though it would mean having a hard time finding a job and paying extra effort to get a degree. I don't get to have a lot of money, but I could pursue the love of my life and find meaning in what I do. That's what matters to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an advocate of cultural understanding, healthy feminism, diversity and inclusion, mental wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and self-realization. I would love to share my perspectives and hear about yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope to share my perspectives and stories with the host! I love to talk about my own cultural upbringing, compare different cultures/religions, and be philosophical about the universe and meaning of life. Other than engaging and thoughtful conversations, I also would like to share my love for cooking and baking with the host. It would be great if we could find time to cook together and open our minds to foods of different origins. I am also a clean and organized person so I'd like to share chores.

Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of politics, especially sensitive topics like cultural revolution. It is difficult to be totally objective and not get emotional about the painful past of a country. Unless you are an expert on history and know enough of the subject, please don't ask me uninformed questions before you do your own research. Your respect and understanding will be greatly appreciated. :)
