Hey! I am Zak, I'm Moroccan currently living in France since 6 years now.
I started dreaming about travelling the World, meeting people, finding out about their culture, trying and cooking dishes from different cuisines and listening to the World music when I was a child. It all started with my first hitch-hiking experience when I just turned 18. I also started using the Couchsurfing back then and fell in love with the idea of making friends all over our fantastic planet.
I am a free spirit, I would call myself a hippie but I don't look like one. I love to talk and share ideas but sometimes I love to be in my own little world of music, books and my own thoughts. I am an optimist, I always look for the bright side and think: "Hey, it can only get better. You can achieve everything you want, you just need to believe, act and never stop. Just follow your dreams and don't let anybody to change you". I love cooking (and eating) too.

My philosophy: we are all made from the same flour but just toasted differently. We may look different, we may think different, we may dress and eat different, drink or not drink at all. But inside we are all the same.
And that's what I am looking for while travelling - realising we are all the same and no matter what - surroundings, weather, culture, religion - we can be friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Simply - to make friends all over the World and learning new things from them. To host when I am home and to be hosted when I travel.

I am a Couchsurfing dinosaur and I believe it should be used in the way it used to a long time ago when I started - meeting a new person and spending a nice time is a priority. Getting a free accommodation is a bonus.
Of course, we all use it when we travel or when we need a place to stay but let's spend time together! Let's share stories, food, our time, our experiences. Sharing is caring!

Interests

I am interested in everything what's about people: cultures, religions, languages, cuisines, music... I love flying and I love my job, I am interested in aviation. Cooking different dishes from different countries. Reading travel reportages and magazines about travelling.
Basically, my entire life is all about travelling and the World.

Music, Movies, and Books

Amadou and Mariam, Ibibio Sound Machine, Tinariwen, Manu Chao and of course much more. World Music in general, funk, modern jazz, salsa, sometimes dance and electro rythms.
Books, travel diaries, reportages and stuff like that.
Movies, nothing in particular, depends on my mood. Sometimes comedies, another days dramas, adventures.
