CURRENT MISSION
To explore the free world !
ABOUT ME
During my travels:
- learned not to be afraid of the unknown
- did a lot of touristic things
- learned what a hostel is (really, I didn't know before that!)
- rode the ferries; trains an average of once a week (nearly got stranded in the middle of Asia)
- discovered CouchSurfing
- lived for 1 month in Malaysia as part of a failed effort to establish myself as an entrepreneur
- did many non-touristic things
Best year of my life!!!
I now live in Toronto making friends from all over the world as a substitute for travel until I can afford to be an expat again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My friends were lucky to have had couchsurfers host them during a one year trip around the world. They told me, without the CSing community, they wouldn't have nearly as many wonderful experiences (and they wouldn't be able to afford the trip, either).
I have hosted many people at home before, new to Couchsurfers, but many times dancers, friends, exchange students and folks from Europe who were recommended to me by other friends.
Also, I plan to explore and travel. Perhaps I'll surf your city soon. :)
Interests
- Movies: Preferably foreign/non hollywood movies for reasons of non-formulaic nature, unpredictability, understated acting, and storyline
- Foreign foods, especially typical foods. I would much rather eat in a food stall in Asia than in a good restaurant in the North America
- Good conversation and travel stories
Oh, and... traveling.
- dining
- movies
- traveling
- hiking
- entrepreneurship
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was on a hike on a glacier in Banff, Alberta, and I had forgotten to bring water. As I walked along the surface of the glacier with my friend and the tour group, I was so thirsty that I just knelt down and scooped some water into my hands from one of the puddles of pure glacier water and drank. However, after doing that the second time, the bones in my hands were literally in pain from the cold temperature of the water, so... I got on my hands and knees and put my mouth to the puddle and drank, kind of like a horse drinks from water. Unfortunately, no pictures or video of this particular moment exist.
That is one amazing thing I have seen or done in my lifetime. Ever notice how most people put 6 or 7 things in this section?
