Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm currently traveling through the South on my way from Albuquerque to New Orleans.
ABOUT ME
I run a small-scale diversified vegetable farm for a non-profit in Illinois, growing fresh produce for market and for local food pantries and soup kitchens. During the off-season I travel to warmer climates.
PHILOSOPHY
Planning is everything, but plans are worthless.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm bike touring through the south right now, and using Couchsurfing as a way to save money and meet people. I love cooking, and I'm happy to make dinner for my hosts!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hitchhiked and stayed with people I've met on the road, but I've never used Couchsurfing and a way to find places. Looking forward to giving it a try!
Interests
Making music, cooking from scratch, running, biking, farming, wrenching, brewing, drinking, learning how to do things I've never done.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was on a controlled burn in Iowa, when we lit a headfire up a hillside of warm season grasses, with a flanking fire that created a 100 ft tall fire-tornado. I was humbled.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always open to sharing my few skills with others. I am a decent bike mechanic, a cook, a farmer, and a brewer, among other things.
