Overview
About Me
Canberra, the beautiful capital of Australia, has been my home for over a decade. It has so much to offer, and one of the best ways to experience it is by walking or cycling around Lake Griffin. There so many architectural landmark to visit for free such as:
- The Australian War Memorial
- National Art Gallery
- National Museum
- Parliament House and The Museum of Australian Democracy (old parliament house)
Just behind the War Memorial rises Mount Ainslie. You can drive up there, but a 40-minute hike rewards you with an astonishing panoramic view of the Bush Capital, where nature and design meet in quiet harmony. Anzac Parade links the War Memorial to the lake, and you can walk and view cool statues on both sides of the street.
About me:
By day, I work in an academic library and beyond the shelves, I’m drawn to dance and culture. .
I’m a storyteller, dancer and a daydreamer, and I love listening to other people’s stories. I believe every human is a book, carrying fascinating, untold stories that need a safe space to be shared.
My Guiding Lights:
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” — Rumi
“You’re not a drop in the ocean; you’re an ocean in a drop.” — Rumi
“Travel far enough, and you meet yourself.” — David Mitchell
“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” — Ibn Battuta
“Where there is hospitality, there is humanity.” — Alain de Botton
“The simple act of opening your home opens the heart.” — Pico Iyer
And “I heal when I move with music.” — Farshad :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hospitality in Iranian culture is not a gesture—it’s a way of being, and it lives in me. I’m a kind and curious soul, drawn to the stories people carry and the worlds they reveal. Couchsurfing lets me meet those worlds, share meals, laughter, and conversation, and create a space where strangers can feel at home. For me, travel isn’t just about places—it’s about people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I feel lucky to speak Persian and wander through its poetry. Rumi lights the path inward, teaching me to love and be true to myself; Hafiz spins magic with every word; Khayyam whispers to cherish each fleeting moment.
I move through life with a soundtrack of French, Spanish, Arabic, and Persian music, letting the rhythms guide my moods and daydreams. When I listen to French songs, I follow the lyrics and get lost in their tenderness and softness—c’est vraiment la langue de l’amour.
On screen, I love stories that inspires me long after the credits roll: Her, The Shawshank Redemption, Schindler’s List, The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Before Sunset (trilogy), and Dead Poet Society... I also have a soft spot for Pixar animations like Wall-E, Ratatouille, and Elemental—joyful reminders of imagination and wonder.
Documentaries are my window to the world: Our Universe and Life on Our Planet (narrated by Morgan Freeman), My Octopus Teacher, Dancing with the Birds, and Chimp Empire feed my curiosity and awe for life.
When it comes to books, I dive into lessons for living fully: Grit, Atomic Habits, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, The Power of Now, The Mountain Is You, and Unfuck Your Adulting guide me through growth, reflection, and a little bit of mischief along the way.
