About Me

Hi! I'm Farzaneh, an energetic traveler from Iran who doesn’t take life too seriously and is on a journey to better understand myself and the world around me. I travel mostly by land, slowly and intentionally, with a small budget and a big curiosity.

I’m not here to check off famous places or collect photos—I’m here to dive deep into the cultural layers of each country I visit. What fascinates me most are local ceremonies, religious traditions, and festivals—those moments when a culture reveals its soul. I love being part of these experiences, even just as an observer. They teach me more than any monument ever could.

I genuinely enjoy helping out and being useful wherever I go. One of my favorite things is sharing Iranian food with people from other cultures—I truly believe Iran has some of the most delicious dishes in the world. If you're curious, I’d love to cook something for you!

I’m passionate about learning new languages and making friends across borders. These connections mean more to me than anything else. Every person I meet adds something beautiful to my journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe the best way to understand a place is through its people. Couchsurfing allows me to meet locals, join their routines, and see the world through their eyes. I’m not looking for luxury—I’m looking for authenticity.

Interests

I love exploring the world through people, movement, and shared experiences. I'm deeply interested in cultural exchange—not just visiting places, but truly understanding how people live, celebrate, and connect.

I enjoy cooking and sharing Iranian food with others—it’s one of the best ways to bring people together. Music and dance are also close to my heart; I may not be a professional, but I love joining local rhythms and learning traditional moves wherever I go.

Walking and hiking help me slow down and feel the land beneath my feet. Whether it’s a quiet village path or a lively street, I find joy in observing life as it flows.

Sports energize me, especially when they’re part of local culture. I’m always curious to try something new, from traditional games to spontaneous group activities.

Above all, I value human connection. Every conversation, every shared meal, every step taken together adds meaning to my journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While traveling in Armenia, I saw something truly unique during a wedding celebration: a dried fox tied to the front of the wedding car. Locals told me it’s a symbol of happiness and good fortune for the couple. I love discovering these kinds of cultural details—small rituals that carry deep meaning and reflect the spirit of a place.
