I want to give people like me the chance to do what they otherwise couldn't do while traveling with limited funds- and that's have a safe place to sleep if they need it.

兴趣

The two passions that rule my heart are horses and backpacking. I have been hiking, camping, and backpacking since I came out of the womb and have been horse back riding since I was 9. I have yet to combine the two in horsepacking, but some day I will!

While I enjoy people, I recharge with quiet activities alone or with another person. Companionable silence, if you will. Looking at the stars, listening to the rain, sitting in a pine forest while drinking Tang are some of my favorite things. I'll read anything I can get my hands on and can always find something on the internet to entertain me.

My taste in music is volatile. I'll go from heavy metal to conducting a Mozart symphony in my imagination. Some days I like to sing a melody of all the Beatles songs that pop into my head and other days I'll listen to half of every song in my collection before deciding I don't want to listen to anything at all. My go-to music is generally folk-y and cabaret-ish, but that is subject to change. Music is all about the moment.

I used to read a couple books a week, but that was when I had classes to ignore. As I've grown older, I've grown lazy in my reading. The books I read and have read are mostly fantasy and fiction and historical fiction and and and...All the books. I have read and will read anything.

On my second or third trip to the beach I and another person were caught in a riptide. I knew we would die. I was not a strong swimmer and they were panicking. However, I kept calm and swam as strong as I could, encouraging the other person to keep going.

I would love to share my hiking and horse knowledge with anyone who would care to listen. I'll teach you the ways of the perfect grilled cheese sandwich. I make sweet keychains. Have sheet music and an instrument? Let's have a jam session. If set up properly, I can crack a one liner in almost any situation and have puns stored away for every occasion. And, to kill time, I have an entire arsenal of Scout songs that I promise to sing off beat and out of key.
