To experience is to learn. The only way to learn is to be deeply curious.
This means talking to people and listening to their stories. This is a perspective switch.
I once heard this quote from the Dali Lama that said: "When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new.”

The most valuable thing for me when communicating with new people is when you feel complete freedom: you can be silent when you want, you can offer or ask whatever you want. And the other person can just as freely accept or refuse your offer.
