About Me
Hi to everybody!
I'm Federica, from Italy, and I study Italian literature at university.
I usually spend my free time reading books, going to the cinema or to my friends' cineforum; on Sunday, I usually spend the day in nature, especially on mountain.
I like traveling on my own because there are more chances of meeting new people and really doing what I want in freedom.
I'm an amateur photographer, I use analog cameras because I love the feeling when I capture a situation, a person or a color that impressed me particularly and I don't know if I did as I wanted or not until I developed the roll (sometimes months can pass), moreover, I believe that the rendering on film gives a greater depth to the photo.
In my life, I attended a theater workshop for several years, with which I also made the experience of performing as a busker in a medieval village; last year I attended an aerial dance classes and now I practice on my own vinyasa yoga, half an hour every morning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that thanks to this platform there can be more opportunities for contact among travelers themselves, it gives me back the idea of a world community; the distances decrease, allowing a deeper contact with the country I decide to visit and the experience of the journey itself.
During a solo trip to Hamburg, I met a woman, Theresa, in a flea market, I don't remember what she was selling, but I remember perfectly that she was listening to beautiful reggae music from the end of the 60s, so I approached with her and, after talking about music, we exchanged numbers. When I left, she wrote me that if I returned to Hamburg, she would gladly welcome me and she spoke of "coutch-serving". I didn't know what it was and, after a research, I found this platform. Her invitation made me very happy and I never forgot it, so I'm here: I hope to meet many other people so generous and to not forget them and their culture anymore.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
Generally, I listen to all kinds of music - folk, electronic, prog, Italian songwriting... - according to my mood (the only genre I've never approached with is metal).
In this (long) period, I love Italian singers/songwriters that sapiently mix the lyrics (that can be profound or completely meaningless) with the sound, expecially from 70-80's (Enzo Carella, Faust'o, Battisti, Battiato...)
BOOKS and MOVIES
I think that every writer and director (collaborators related) has his own eye on the world and, therefore, a very personal way of telling "his story", so it's really hard for me to choose favorites.
Maybe the director I feel more connected with for a long time is Wong Kar-wai.
After reading Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita", I can say it's one of my favorites until now!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I bring to my mind the little things that turn out to be incredible - from my point of view - and I think that all can be contained in what I try to do continually: accept input and expand my point of view; this, I think, is the most incredible action I can do for myself and, therefore, for everyone close to me, in an endless chain.
What I Can Share with Hosts
-A dynamic and open-minded spirit;
-Some gooood Italian food and recipes (to fall into cliche);
- If you are collecting items from all over the world or you are often used to host and you like to keep a memory of the guests, I can bring you a symbol of my country.
