I have lived internationally on and off since 1982. I currently travel between my homes in Bend, Oregon and in Ubud, Bali in addition to travel all over the world. My most important experience of travel is not the places I go or the things that I see; it is the people I meet.

I have heard about very good experiences with CouchSurfing from friends in Bend. For the last 10 years I have shared my home in Bali with people that I have met while traveling. This year and next I plan to be in Europe and the Middle East and would like to be able to meet people who live there to have have the connection and make a deeper experience.

Music: New age, spiritual activation, jazz, blues, lots more
Movies: Scifi, comedy, drama, comic book heros(!) NO to horror!
Books: Im a very fast reader and typically read 5 to 10 books a month. Lots of non fiction in the areas of the brain, biographies, travel adventure, grief and then nonfiction from authors in USA, UK and south America.

In 2013 I trekked in Nepal in the Kumbu region for 35 days, 25 of those at elevations above 13,000 feet. I climbed to almost 20,000 feet 4 times. I really didn't think that I would physically be able to do the trek but was willing to try. It was extremely beautiful and extremely difficult. Once we got off the plane at Lukla, we did not hear another internal combustion engine until we returned to Lukla. The gift of walking each day in a space unsullied by the sounds of our culture was soul nourishing. The beauty of the trek through the old growth rhododendron forests, and along steep ravines with roiling waters was just as beautiful to me as the barren but majestic landscape of the mountains once we got above the tree line. Totally worth it and I would love to go do it again, but for less time. 35 days at that altitude taxed my body to the point that brain systems and some body systems were beginning to shut down.

I am on a spiritual journey of personal evolution. I have been cursed, and blessed with tragedy and have opened to embracing life as a gift. I have lived all over the world and love to share with others information about places I have been and insights and learnings that I have picked up along my journey.
