About Me

Hi, My name is LI Zhaoqing. I am a junior student of Peking University, China and working for my double major in international political economy and sociology. I am a keen foodie and usually go out to search fantastic restaurants on weekends. I am learning how to cook recently and expect to be a . I love travelling and have been to several places in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Taiyuan, Xi'an, Luoyang, etc) and America (Chicago, New York and Washington D.C.). I will travel around Italy this winter vacation for six weeks and hope to know interesting people there. I really enjoy making friends with people from different backgrounds and have conversations with them to get other brilliant perspectives. I have participated in several trans-cultural exchanges before and expanded my understanding about global issues such as gender equality, public health, climate change, nuclear issue and so on. Looking forward to speaking with you guys ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I know Couchsurfing from my friend studying at Tsinghua University who strongly recommended this to me. She has been a member of Couchsurfing for quite a long time and traveled across Europe and the U.S. with the accommodation of Couchsurfing. I think Couchsurfing is a great platform for me to know interesting people and have accommodation with very low price.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer ballad. For movies, I enjoy romantic ones as well as popcorn movies. I am a big fan of superhero movies actually and my favorite hero is Iron Man. I love reading travelling notes, books talking about social problems ( I am concerned about social issues and have a double degree in sociology ) and history books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling alone to the U.S. !!! My first time abroad is to go to America. I spent almost 17 hours on the plane and lived in a hostel in Manhattan sharing room with other 7 people among which I'm the only Asian. It is soooo unforgettable experience to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Mandarin(Chinese) and some basic Chinese dishes. I really wanna learn some new languages especially French or Spanish. I can also share my travelling experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would like to share the facts I have learned in class and my own insights about international relations and global issues in common concern. I am also willing to answer your confusions about China's reality and give you a relatively subjective appearance of Chinese society.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, United States
