ABOUT ME

Hmm... where do I start?? I am never quite sure how to address this question.

I love art. I really enjoy spacing out, long train rides, and museums. I think that I am a pretty big geek in that I find even the smallest things very fascinating. Another favorite past time of mine is sleeping in public and touching things in museums :P

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just spent the last semester abroad and traveling around Europe, and it has been the most wonderful experience.. going to some of the most beautiful places in the western world, meeting new people from incredibly different backgrounds, sharing cultures... but through this experience, I've really come to treasure that small act of kindness that can go so far. Many times during my travels, I have met so many kind people who were willing to help me out, or even to just speak to me, and these acts alone have made it all worthwhile.

I would like to continue this cycle of kindness and give back, now that I am (for the time being) back home. Unfortunately, I cannot offer my couch as I live on campus, BUT I would really be more than happy to take some of you out around my area, get a cup of coffee or froyo ^^.

My all time three favorite books are: Notes from the Underground, The World According to Garp, Catcher in the Rye. I also really enjoy reading graphic novels as well ^^

In terms of movies, I love animation, namely those of Miyazaki. Also, The Fall, Everything is Illuminated, Amadeus, and Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain.

and for music, god, anything really. I have a couple favorite bands and songs that I always listen to, but recently I've been listening to a lot of ambient/techno music. I am also always looking for international bands too!!!

I suppose if I really know or am passionate about something, it'd probably be art and Buddhist philsophy. These two things are very ingrained in my personal philsophy, how I live my life and see the world. I guess it isn't much to offer, but I'd like to be an art teacher one day (I can talk about it for hours!) and I very much enjoy sharing my passions.

Also, I guess this whole couch-surfing plan of mine is to see the world and meet different people; the world is so large, I can't even comprehend that sort of space. So, something that I would like to learn or encounter is a different perspective, a foreign culture.. which I find so incredibly valuable, especially in these times.
