About Me

Hi! I’m Juan, I’m a positive, dynamic, and open-minded person who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and helping others. I’m responsible and determined when I start something, I make sure I finish it.

Traveling has shaped who I am. Over the past two years, I’ve lived and explored abroad, discovering not only new countries but also new parts of myself. I saw snow for the first time in Iceland, fell in love with London (a city I would return to again and again), felt inspired by the magic of Paris, found a special connection with Italy — one of my favorite places in the world — and admired Germany’s sobriety and strength.

I’ve also traveled across Colombia, my home country, and parts of Mexico and the U.S., always looking for meaningful experiences rather than just destinations.

I’m a dreamer who loves deep conversations, cultural exchange, spontaneous adventures, and creating genuine connections around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined this community because I truly believe that traveling is not just about visiting places, but about connecting with people, sharing stories, and discovering different ways of seeing the world.

I would love to meet people who share that same adventurous spirit, those who are curious about new cultures, new places, and meaningful conversations. For me, the best part of traveling is the human connection: sitting down, talking about life, dreams, experiences, and learning from each other’s journeys.

I’m someone who loves to laugh and make others laugh. I believe humor is a universal language that brings people closer instantly. I enjoy deep conversations just as much as spontaneous adventures, and I’m always open to new experiences.

One of the places where I feel happiest is the kitchen. I absolutely love baking cakes, pastries, desserts — for me, cooking is a way of expressing care and sharing joy. I believe food connects people in a very special way, and I’d be happy to prepare something sweet to share.

I’m here not just to find a place to stay, but to create real connections, exchange cultures, and make memories that last far beyond the trip itself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One wonderful thing I’ve done in my life was deciding to leave my comfort zone and live in Hawaii for more than six months. It wasn’t just about being in a beautiful place — it was about immersing myself in a completely different culture, understanding the island lifestyle, respecting nature in a deeper way, and learning from people with a strong sense of community and spirituality. Living there taught me independence, resilience, and gratitude. It also gave me the courage to continue exploring the world.

Over the past two years, I’ve traveled and lived abroad, experiencing Iceland’s powerful landscapes and seeing snow for the first time, falling in love with cities like London and Paris, and discovering parts of myself through every new culture I encountered. Each place has shaped me, but Hawaii was the moment I realized I was capable of building a life anywhere.

It showed me that growth happens when you choose courage over comfort, and since then, I’ve tried to live my life guided by curiosity, connection, and the desire to truly experience the world rather than just pass through it.
