About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do it! And move to the next step.

ABOUT ME

Youngest of three, son of a journalist and an engineer. Childhood in the city, summer vacations by the beach and weekends grandpa's ranch.

Frustrated musician, my bassist career went over when I've got a scholarship to study in France. Lyon and Paris have been my home between 2004 and 2007. Thanks to the generous French academic calendar, I had plenty of time to visit Europe (east, west, north, south)... and having more time than places to visit in that continent, we have even set sail to Egypt.

Back to Brazil in 2007 I've spent some time to know my own country better.

About one year ago I've decided to pursuit my PhD degree and came back to Lyon. Still a student? Yes! Sharing a flat? Yes! Having tons of holidays? Not anymore... Working hard, but still having fun.

For the record: I'm very polite and respectful to others opinion and privacy.

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard and please yourself working.
Keep the head up, the spine straight and the heart peaceful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling/hosting, knowing other cultures. I guess this is the key to understand and respect each other.
Help people find a place to sleep and show them a bit of the city I'm living in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had my first couch surf experience in January 2011, when visiting Québec and Montreal. Due to my researcher position, I mostly travel abroad for conferences and always try to spend some extra days with cool local people.

Interests

Music - Unfortunately I'm not playing my bass as often as the doctor would recommend.

Hit the road - No matter how far, no matter if in a car or a motorbike. I just love travelling on the ground and find my way through old-fashioned folded maps.

I'm fascinated by languages, by the way they evolve to capture a people habits and beliefs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Crossing my mind right now:
Movies: Pan's Labyrinth, Elephant, District-9
Books: Robert Ludlum's novels, The gun seeler (by Dr. House), Maus and most of the books with a solid historical background.
Music: Thats a vast issue... from Ozzy to Dave Mathews Band may be a good definition.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Kings valley in Egypt and the beautiful city of Assouan.
- The road and beaches between Santos and Rio in Brazil.
- Counting stars in a raft in Barbados.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay
