Hi! My name is Felix, a 26-year-old traveller in Winterthur, Switzerland. Growing up in the woods of Småland, Sweden, I dreamt of living abroad. With a few years of German classes, I set off for Frankfurt to become a train driver, another dream of mine. Eventually I ended up in Winterthur, and I'm thoroughly enjoying living so close to the beautiful Alps, rivers and gorges Switzerland has to offer.

I study engineering at ZHAW in Winterthur. Every now and then I drive trains for SBB, and I sing in the classical choir Kammerchor Konservatorium Winterthur. I love to go swimming, sometimes I do little challenges where I swim in a different place every day!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hostels are cool, I stay in them regularly, but for certain trips I want to get to know more than just the place I'm visiting. I want to get to know its people. Inviting someone to your home is such a beautiful thing, something we should do more often in my opinion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once when travelling, I became part of a trio in a railway station. A girl was just sitting with a guitar, singing Hallelujah. Stopped to listen and sang along quietly, soon we were a duet. A few verses later a guy sat down by the public piano that just happened to be there, and the trio was complete.

We formed our band during the course of one song, played together for an hour, and sadly haven't met up since. It really was one of those magic moments of travelling though.

Languages! I speak Swedish, English, German, Swiss German, some French and Spanish, and I do a pretty convincing fake Danish and Norwegian.
