I grew up in north east Germany, moved to Berlin and later to Essen, in western Germany. After i started to study graphic design in Arnhem, just across the Dutch border, I decided to move to Amsterdam. Finished my studies there and freelanced in my profession. I had an awesome time there for almost 12 years. Then a good friend asked me if i wanted to travel to China to give some workshops at an art-school. Thats what happened... China is really interesting and so much different than what i've known before, that the stay took longer and longer. At some point we started making beer, and we still make beers. Opened a bar and later opened a bigger bar with more capacity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Never stop exploring! When visiting new cities I'd like to see it through the eyes of a local person. The backstreets, the little places that you only find when you've lived in a city for a while. With couch surfing this is possible. Meeting new people and share experiences.

Interests

Electronic music as in experimental, avant garde, all kinds of techno, jazz, disco. Since i make beers, now very much into craft beers and brewing! All things design, museums, galleries, exhibitions... I used to be into writing (graffiti) and still do sometimes. Photography, street art, urban exploring, bikes, stand up paddling, surfing... oh yeah cooking!

Music, Movies, and Books

It's hard to tell any favourite music but these labels influenced my taste: clone records, underground resistance, pampa records. The first movie that comes to my mind is "The Life Aquatic - with Steve Zissou".
