About Me

Walking around a new place without Google maps and trying to get to know the neighborhood is something I really like to do. I sometimes even try to get lost. In my experience you will find unique things when you are off the beaten track. But at the same time, I love to sit at a cafe sipping a coffee, reading a book or listening to a podcast.

This year I bought a museumcard which I can use for visiting almost every museum in the Netherlands. This is something I really like to do. My favorite museum is The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

I also like doing sports: bootcamp, yoga, running and swimming are my favorites. This summer I also want to try windsurfing again.

As a student in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences I am very interested in human behaviour. Both sociology and psychology are things I read about a lot. This year I started my minor in health behavior and my focus is now to learn more about this topic in order to make an impact on society.

At the moment I am living in an international student house in the city of Utrecht. As a real dutchie I love riding my bicycle. Living with nine other people from different cultures made me realise that every culture is unique and that you can learn a lot from eachother.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After writing a paper about the phenomenon Couchsurfing at University, I decided to make a profile and get in touch with other travelers. This summer I will travel all over Europe and I hope to stay at people's places to know more about their daily life, their cuisine and experiences in life.

Also using the Hang-out function of the couchsurfing app is something I discovered as very easy and helpful when you are in a new city. Spending time with people or discovering a new museum together is what I really liked about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

When you always listen to your friend's playlist on spotify and you really don't know anything about music.
You can better admit it directly...

My favorite books are the ones written by Roald Dahl.
But also Harry Potter is an alltime favorite.

Series: The Bridge! Narcos, The Crown and The Fall.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on holiday as a family by bike. We went to France and Germany even when my brothers and I were very young. I really enjoyed discovering new places by bike and setting up your tent at a campsite everyday.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about the Dutch culture.
Learn you how to cook the best pumpkin soup.
Share my ideas about traveling or any other topic you would like talking about :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook you a very Dutch breakfast!
